Today we’d like to introduce you to Holliann Schrantz
Hi Holliann , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began my yoga practice nearly 8 years ago in Rochester, NY. At the time, I was looking for a hobby and a way to make new friends, and yoga seemed like the perfect solution. A few years later, I returned to Buffalo with a desire to deepen my practice and expand my knowledge, so I enrolled in a Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) program.
I had always known I wanted to have my own studio after graduating YTT, so right from the start, I began marketing my classes, coordinating fun events to meet new students, and collaborating with as many small businesses in Buffalo as I could. That’s how Vibe Yoga Lab came to life.
Today, I’m continuing to grow my business, constantly learning new things to stay relevant and keep both myself and my students engaged. I’m excited for the growth and learning ahead, with fun and exciting plans in store for Vibe Yoga Lab’s future.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I want to start by saying this: if it were easy, everyone would do it. There have been obstacles throughout my entire journey, but I choose to view them as opportunities for growth and learning, rather than setbacks. I believe everything happens for a reason. In the moment, it might not make sense and can feel incredibly frustrating, but eventually, everything aligns in divine timing, and things always work out in the end.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business, Vibe Yoga Lab, is a yoga collective dedicated to making yoga classes accessible to everyone. We offer a range of classes, from Yin Yoga to Vinyasa flows, and we are also known for our unique Yin Yoga Book Clubs.
We believe that yoga and reading share a special similarity: whether you’re rolling out your mat or opening a book, you can lose yourself in your thoughts and create a world where you’re free to be whoever you want to be.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I will always, always, always recommend getting a business advisor if you can! They can provide valuable guidance throughout your journey of starting a small business. If a mentor isn’t accessible to you, having an accountability partner is another great option. Never be afraid to ask questions!
Enroll in classes designed for small businesses and attend free networking events in your area. I emphasize “free” because I personally believe that networking and learning from others should always be free and, once agin, accessible to everyone.
