From a young age, I had a dream of owning my own practice. As I progressed through graduate school, that ambition only grew stronger. After spending four years at a group practice, I began to feel increasingly burnt out. I realized that I was dedicating my efforts to support a practice that was not my own, which spurred me to take the leap into entrepreneurship.Life experiences during that time reinforced the idea that life is too short to play it safe. I recognized the importance of pursuing my passion, no matter how daunting it might seem. Ultimately, I made the decision to start my own practice, and I am truly grateful that I did. Read more>>

I’ve always found deep fulfillment in hosting and caring for people, so the idea of curating a plastic surgery practice centered on hospitality felt like a natural extension of that passion. I envisioned a space where achieving excellent surgical results wasn’t the sole focus—rather, I wanted to prioritize the entire experience each patient has throughout their surgical journey. The beginning stages of opening a private practice were very scary and daunting. I felt a little intimidated by business as I had no experience or background, but I knew my passion for the field would be the driving force. Coming up with a business name was very challenging for me and I actually opened as SEE Therapies and ended up rebranding once I landed on the perfect name that encompassed my true belief in empowering the little years of a child – The Little Years Therapy Co. I know more now about boundaries, how to face the difficulties of insurance and billing, and work life balance. I struggled with a lot of those in the beginning but feel like almost 2 years in, I am gaining a stable footing in meeting my expectations I set for myself. Read more>>

The Journey Behind Creative Continuum Therapy: Empowering Neurodivergent Lives with a Holistic Approach
Starting Creative Continuum Therapy was a journey born from a deep desire to offer neurodivergent individuals the compassionate, holistic care they truly deserve. After years of working in various clinical settings, it became clear that many individuals with neurological and neurodevelopmental differences weren’t receiving the specialized care they needed to thrive. This realization sparked my vision to create Creative Continuum Therapy—a practice dedicated to providing more than just treatment, but a space for empowerment, healing, and self-discovery. Although I loved the team I worked with, my previous employer was set up with a very corporate structure (and understandably so as it was a corporate organization, so I don’t fault them for that). However, I quickly learned that sales goals and quotas were not my style, nor were they what my patient’s were used to expecting from me. Read more>>

Looking back, there was so much magic in how my healing practice came to be, although it often felt like I was following signs and omens and flying by the seat of my pants. The journey looked like this…
Decades ago, in a college anthropology course, I was invited to write a case study of a healer. Serendipitous events led me to a wonderful woman named Joann Pun who agreed to chat with me about reiki. Little did I know that our connection would change rest of my life, and ripple out to thousands. Read more>>

In the early days of my practice I was fortunate to have learned so much from business partners who helped me to get started that I had a very solid foundation from which to grow. However when I went out on my own there were things I needed to establish as part of our culture that would set us apart in the field. If I could go back and do it differently I would have niched my practice sooner. I was all over the place trying to help everyone and the message of what I specialized in got lost in this. The story of establishing my own practice (SRIG) stems from a deep sense of frustration. I had worked with many organizations and closely observed what universities in Jordan were providing to medical students, and I found it severely lacking in the extracurricular area. The opportunities offered were repetitive and stagnant, students weren’t gaining anything new or meaningful. Most workshops and events were just the same basic activities recycled over and over, making every experience blend into the next without any real sense of growth or advancement. Read more>>

The Journey to Establishing My Practice
Starting my own practice was a journey rooted in faith, resilience, and a deep passion for supporting athletes. Becoming the owner of my dental practice has always been my ultimate goal. This stems from a desire to provide the best possible care for my patients. My grandfather is a dentist and watching him growing up was inspiring to see the trust and love his patients had for him. The dental industry is becoming more dominated by corporations and private equity everyday. I believe the best quality care for patients comes from a dentist that you trust and develop a relationship with. However, for the dentist this is a hard route to take due to the added responsibility and liability becoming a business owner. My path has been filled with hard work and stress but I am proud of what we are accomplishing at Dunwoody Dental Care. Like any dream if you believe and are willing to be disciplined the benefits are worth the effort. Read more>>
