We were lucky to catch up with Denzel Kazeze recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Denzel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Well starting off from a very young age which would be 7 years old, I started off within performing arts by doing a talent show. This is when I began for the first time, and I knew that this was the field I did indeed belong in.
Starting off I would like to share some of the skills I developed over the years. These skills are acting, dancing, and also singing for when it was needed. From a young age I was watching Micheal Jackson from my television screen and this is where I learned many of my not only dance skills, but also acting skills as well.
Watching him take the crowd without even trying, being effortlessly great at what he did, the perfection, the precision every one of those things I at the age of 6 going on 7 wanted. I wanted to be that of precision, and also perfection when it came to whatever I did as far as what I enjoyed doing.
When it Came to the skills of what I would consider most essential for myself I would rank acting, and dancing as my highest and singing as my secondary skill overall. This can be biased I will say to some because singing may rank higher for others, but for myself I saw that I was able to go farther quicker within this entertainment business by being a great actor, and also on stage performer.
I always looked at my acting and dancing skills as very easy for me to not only demonstrate but also being able to execute those skills when either being self taught or by also having a choreographer as well.
As far as obstacles go I can’t put my finger on anything in particular that stopped me from learning the craft I wanted to learn. The only thing I would say is that when I was younger as a teen and also as a young kid, it was temptation to be distracted and even at times discouraged by others around because other kids and also young teens that are going into adulthood will want to influence you at times, and also it may cause you to sway from your focus as well.
Now as a 20 year old young man who has had the experience I have had so far as being on stage a multiple amount of times, and also being within on screen acting for a good bit of a year in a half now I have a very strong mind, and I also am focused on many other great blessings.
So one piece of advice I would give to any other young person out there that may be younger than me, I would tell them to focus on what the world has for you, and to tell them to expect there to be bumps along the road, but as long as you are determined and hard working you will always make progress.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes I would say there is indeed a goal within me doing acting on screen and o also other things within entertainment as well. I believe the overall goal for me would be to get to the point of becoming the best version of myself from doing this. I am beyond inspired from doing the work and I believe the long I do it, I will only get better and even better at it overtime.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Society I think does a pretty good job at helping many people get there names out there as long as they also put a little bit of effort in as well, just like this interview I would say is very beneficial and I am beyond appreciative for it as well. So with that being said I would say the only thing I would suggest to better our creative system overall would be to start making more known entertainers help the up and coming ones more.
We see a lot of times within the industry many people with good influence, and these people have the capacity to help new artists, entrepreneurs, actors, ect. Back I would say around 20 years back many creative people within different fields would have people that would help them along the way and teach them the presence that was needed.
The person with the talent would come and the people with experience would teach them presence, and many other skills that they developed over the years, that way it would make it easier for the new person that is coming in to make their impact. Not as if people won’t make mistakes along the way, because everyone will make mistakes, but it would make it easier for them. I would say it would help to avoid certain mistakes the previous person made.
