Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ben Taylor. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ben , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory of how you established your own practice.
Becoming the owner of my dental practice has always been my ultimate goal. This stems from a desire to provide the best possible care for my patients. My grandfather is a dentist and watching him growing up was inspiring to see the trust and love his patients had for him. The dental industry is becoming more dominated by corporations and private equity everyday. I believe the best quality care for patients comes from a dentist that you trust and develop a relationship with. However, for the dentist this is a hard route to take due to the added responsibility and liability becoming a business owner. My path has been filled with hard work and stress but I am proud of what we are accomplishing at Dunwoody Dental Care. Like any dream if you believe and are willing to be disciplined the benefits are worth the effort.

Ben , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My passion for dentistry came from my family. My grandfather and uncle are both dentist in the town where I grew up in south of Atlanta. I knew it was a field where I could help people but also fulfill my creative and scientific interest. My philosophy at Dunwoody Dental Care comes from a number of experiences and training but none more foundational than my time in the United States Army. This experience allowed me to focus on core principles of medicine in a time where other financial or life stressors were not present. This time allowed me to grow not only as a clinician but also become a better leader, man and husband. These principals are felt in my practice where our goals are to provide the highest quality of dental care, in a comfortable setting to our patients and their whole families.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
First and foremost being an honest and ethical provider is one of the greatest ways to generate word of mouth referrals. This is the most respectable path and one that comes before all others.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In 2020 I was deployed to an active combat zone in the middle of the Iraqi desert as a dentist in support of the fight against ISIS. . Being stripped away from your family and nearly everything that makes life enjoyable is humbling. During trying and scary times like these you really become tested in your character. Suddenly work drama or other life stressors seem trivial compared to the worry of being blown up. This gave me a good perspective on life and what should not be taken for granted. This was a great test to build not only my personal resilience but also clinical skills in a unique environment.
