Fiona, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
About Me & Lympha Spa and Massage
My name is Fiona, and I am the Founder and Lead Practitioner of Lympha Spa and Massage, located in Clive, Iowa. My journey into lymphatic massage began after a life-changing battle with cancer in January 2017. At just 35 years old, I faced an intense 9 weeks and 9 rounds of chemotherapy that left me with a host of physical and emotional challenges, including vertigo, lymph node swelling, pain, and panic attacks. Although I had always been interested in health, this experience forced me to truly understand my body in ways I never imagined. I realized that some of my past approaches to health needed to change.
Through a commitment to a healthier lifestyle and receiving lymphatic massage regularly, I was able to start healing—not just physically but emotionally. As my kids returned to school full-time, I knew I needed to return to work to refocus my energy. Renting a room in a chiropractor’s office, I began offering regular massages while also doing some lymphatic work. Little did I know, God would continue sending clients into my life who needed specialized lymphatic care.
This inspired me to fully immerse myself in learning more about lymphatic massage, particularly for post-surgical clients. Over the years, I have traveled across the U.S. and internationally to study various lymphatic techniques and approaches. I am passionate about continuing to learn and improve, not just for my benefit, but to better serve my clients and help them experience true healing and transformation.
At Lympha Spa, we specialize in advanced lymphatic wellness services, including Brazilian-style lymphatic massages, Halo Sauna therapy, and cutting-edge Thermography services. Our treatments focus on addressing pain, swelling, and inflammation, offering personalized solutions for clients recovering from surgery, dealing with chronic pain, or seeking overall wellness.
What sets us apart is our blend of luxury and expertise. Our serene, upscale spa environment provides a peaceful escape, but our core mission is to deliver results that improve our clients’ health and well-being. I am especially proud of the connections we’ve built with our clients, helping them not just feel better but live better.
Starting in 2025, I will also launch Heart of Lympha, a charity initiative donating one massage per month to individuals undergoing cancer treatment who might not otherwise afford it. This initiative reflects my deep desire to give back, inspired by my own journey and my faith.
For anyone considering our services, I want you to know that Lympha Spa is more than a spa—it’s a place where healing, care, and transformation happen. I am here to support you, just as I was supported during my own journey. Together, we can help you feel healthy, beautiful, and at peace.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
my reputation has grown because of the results I deliver and the genuine care I provide to each of my clients. Much of my business has come from word of mouth—one client telling another about their positive experience, which then builds trust and credibility. This natural growth is something I’m incredibly grateful for.
I am also a lifelong learner and stay humble in my approach, always looking for ways to improve and better serve my clients. Over the years, I’ve traveled extensively across the U.S. and internationally to study advanced lymphatic techniques, particularly for post-surgical clients. This dedication to learning has allowed me to bring expertise and cutting-edge practices to my work, which clients recognize and appreciate.
As a result, I’ve built strong relationships with a few plastic surgeons in town who now refer their patients to me. Many of their referrals come because those patients have personally experienced how my treatments helped them recover, reduced their swelling, or eased their pain. That trust and connection with both clients and medical professionals have been key to establishing my reputation.
Ultimately, I think what sets me apart is my genuine passion for helping people feel better, whether it’s alleviating pain, speeding up recovery, or simply providing a space for healing. My clients know they are more than just appointments to me—I truly care about their well-being, and I believe that care is what people remember and share.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Absolutely! Reading, listening to podcasts, and connecting with God’s word every morning have all been transformative for my personal growth and business journey.
Some of the books that have had a significant impact on my thinking include Atomic Habits by James Clear, which taught me the importance of small, consistent steps toward big goals, and The E-Myth Revisited by Michael E. Gerber, which completely changed how I view entrepreneurship. It helped me understand the value of building systems to support growth rather than trying to do everything myself. Another favorite is Start With Why by Simon Sinek, which emphasizes the importance of having a clear purpose behind everything I do—not just for myself but also for my clients and team.
Podcasts are another big part of my routine. I love The Ed Mylett Show and The Mindset Mentor, both of which remind me of the importance of mindset, resilience, and gratitude in both life and business. I also find inspiration from How I Built This by Guy Raz, which shares incredible entrepreneurial stories of persistence and innovation.
Most importantly, I start every morning listening to God’s word and spending time in prayer. This quiet time with God helps me center myself, focus on my purpose, and approach each day with clarity and faith. It’s a daily reminder that my work is part of something bigger—that I am here to serve others and do God’s work. Prayer has been my foundation, helping me through challenges, guiding my decisions, and keeping me grounded in gratitude and hope.
These resources, combined with my faith, have shaped my management philosophy and entrepreneurial mindset. They’ve taught me to stay adaptable, lead with humility, and trust that consistent effort and a clear purpose will always lead to growth. They’ve also helped me stay focused on serving my clients and building a business that reflects my mission of helping others feel healthier, empowered, and loved.
