We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chandler Archuleta a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

One day, after a really difficult conversation with a horrible boss, I realized that spending 60 hours a week creating someone else’s dream was making me frustrated and unfulfilled. I decided to take a vacation and do some life coaching to reflect on what I wanted out of life. The security and comfort I had sought for 15 years had led me to a plateau where every effort just went in career circles. The life coaching sessions on my vacation were extremely effective because they were aboard a cruise ship. There were no daily distractions, and the ship was a perfect place to focus on evolving. After a week of dedicated coaching, it became clear that I wanted and needed freedom and peace more than comfort and security.

Entrepreneurship would provide me the freedom and peace I desired; it also gave me a way to reach my potential by helping others reach theirs. I was able to see that working 60 hours a week for a horrible boss, going in circles, was never going to make me happy. Since then, it has been my mission to build a company where we can help people stop hurting so they can start helping others. Crooz Coaching has been able to improve relationships, careers, and lives of our clients while they enjoy cruise travel.

For those who may not be familiar with my journey, I’m an engineering director-turned-entrepreneur passionate about transforming how individuals and organizations perform and grow. My career began with coaching managers and teams on leveraging inch stones, technology, and effective communication to elevate their performance.

My transition into Crooz Coaching emerged from a personal realization aboard a cruise ship—a setting perfect for transformative reflection. It was there I discovered the freedom and peace I truly desired, steering me away from traditional confines and into the dynamic world of coaching. Crooz Coaching aims to help individuals turn confusion into clarity, using a unique blend of personal development and cruise travel experiences.

Our services include group coaching, tailored goal planning, and continuous follow-up, which empower our clients to achieve their dreams. When starting my business, it quickly became apparent that obscurity was our largest hurdle. No one knew who we were, and our brand had yet to be established as a trusted authority. Without clients signing up for our services, we faced the imminent threat of having to close our doors. However, the mission of Crooz Coaching was too vital to let this be the end. Driven by purpose, I embarked on a journey of learning and growth.

I reached out to mentors, universities, and veterans’ organizations, absorbing knowledge and insights from diverse sources. This dedication transformed me into an expert on key aspects of starting and sustaining a business. My experiences and acquired wisdom culminated in the creation of two comprehensive workbooks—’New Beginnings’ for aspiring entrepreneurs and a life coaching guide. These will be released in January, marking a significant milestone in our journey, with Print ISBNs: 978-1-959621-86-7, 978-1-959621-83-6, respectively, and Ebook ISBNs: 979-8-88531-902-7, 979-8-88531-899-0.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

When I started my business eight months ago, I faced the challenge of building a social media presence from scratch. I didn’t have accounts on platforms like X, Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube. Quickly realizing the importance of social media for reaching a broader audience, I embarked on a rapid learning journey.

Through research, trial and error, and leveraging the valuable analytics provided by these platforms, I began to cultivate a meaningful following. YouTube, in particular, has been an insightful tool, offering data on post popularity, audience engagement, and demographics. This information has allowed me to experiment with various topics, thumbnails, music, and descriptions, consistently adapting to deliver the greatest value to my followers.

Facebook groups have played a crucial role in my growth, offering motivation and a wealth of knowledge from experienced influencers. Two key strategies for anyone starting out are to provide unique content that is quickly usable and to remain positive, even in the face of negativity. By focusing on these strategies, I’ve been able to foster significant engagement on my social media journey.
