We were lucky to catch up with Becca Rose recently and have shared our conversation below.
Becca, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about how you went about setting up your own practice and if you have any advice for professionals who might be considering starting their own?
Becca started her Myofunctional Therapy practice in 2021 after 20 years in the dental field. At a very young age, she had a strong interest in teeth and this led her down her educational path. Despite her young age, she experienced physical ailments

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Meet Becca Rose. She is the owner of Myofunctional Pathways, LLC and is a Certified Myofunctional Therapist, Certified Buteyko Breathing Instructor, and Sleep Coach.
Since a very young age, Becca has exhibited an interest in oral health and dental topics. She was active in the dental field from 2004-2020.
When she learned about Myofunctional Therapy, the “AH HA” moment happened. She realized that this was the missing piece to some of the symptoms she had experienced in her life. And so the journey began. Since then, she has improved many of her own myofunctional concerns.
Now she has the experience and first hand knowledge to help her patients find the missing link to many of their symptoms with determination to find the root cause. Often, THE TONGUE is the root cause and it is most often the last thing anyone ever thinks of. Her clients have gained significant, life changing improvements of symptoms!
So what is Myofunctional Therapy? Becca defines it as ” a muscle therapy program that specifically focuses on the muscles of the face, mouth, throat and tongue to improve snoring, sleep, sleep apnea, tongue tie, TMJ, facial pain, clenching and grinding of teeth, chewing and swallowing functions, breathing, bedwetting and thumb sucking. Therapy is neuro-muscular which means, after you create new muscle patterns, you’ll be able to maintain improvements gained from myofunctional therapy for life.”
Becca has had the great privilege of obtaining training from many of the most highly respected Myofunctional Therapy organizations in the world:
* The International Association of Orofacial Myology- IAOM
* Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy-AOMT Certified
* Buteyko Clinic International (Patrick Mckeown)-Certified
* Myo Modalities Mastermind (Karese Laguerre)
* Myo Circle Internship (Airway Circle)
* Sleep Coach Program (Nick Lambe-The Online Sleep Coach)
In addition, she mentors and collaborates with some of the most respected professionals in the field. These professionals include well known Myofunctional Therapists and Airway focused Dentists, both nationally and locally. Becca is proud to hold certification in the Buteyko Breathing Method by the world renowned author, speaker and educator, Patrick McKeown.
Myofunctional Pathways is dedicated and motivated to deliver exceptional Myofunctional and Breathing Re-education services. Myofunctional and Breathing services are well suited for those age 4 and older, or based on ability.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Though myofunctional therapy is still relatively unknown, I’ve been passionately building my practice for the past 4 years. My commitment to personalized treatment plans and exceptional client communication has fueled growth through word-of-mouth referrals. Every client receives individualized care and ongoing support, which sets my practice apart.
This client-centered approach has naturally led to strong word-of-mouth referrals and steady growth.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
It’s true, I might have started sooner if I had known! My background in the dental field gave me a head start, though. The ongoing education and certifications I received paved the way for my career in Myofunctional Therapy.
And honestly, it’s the most rewarding work I’ve ever done. I’m constantly amazed at how myofunctional therapy can be that missing piece of the puzzle for people with chronic health and sleep problems – even after they’ve tried everything else. It truly changes lives for those who commit to it.
I can personally vouch for that. After 14 years of relying on a CPAP machine (diagnosed at 28!), myofunctional therapy helped me ditch it completely.
