We were lucky to catch up with Yisrael Lawrence recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Yisrael thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I can honestly say that music has been something I’ve wanted to do since childhood. From recording s9ngs on the radio using a tape recorder, to me creating my own music. I guess I always wanted to give the same feelings back that I got from listening to songs from DMX, to Jay-Z, Nas, etc.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve been releasing music since my first album A Dreamers Worse Nightmare dropped in 2009. When I first started we had many of us, now it’s literally just me. I do it all from lyrics to music production.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I think right now more than ever I’m showing resilience. The fact that I’m still doing it no matter what critics have to say. I’m ambitious to hit the charts.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to learn how to write songs solo instead of writing songs for a group. That was the hardest transition for me. I guess coming up I always wanted success with others.
