We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Debby Tapia a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Debby, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Folks often look at a successful business and imagine it was an overnight success, but from what we’ve seen this is often far from the truth. We’d love to hear your scaling up story – walk us through how you grew over time – what were some of the big things you had to do to grow and what was that scaling up journey like?

The growing & exciting entertainment industry here in Central Florida has opportunities for all ages. The Maile Image, Modeling & Acting School prepares adults, teens & kids for all areas of the industry that include On Camera Acting for TV, Commercials & Film as well as Professional Modeling on the areas of Runway, Fashion Shows, Print & Brochure work.

The Maile Professional Image, Modeling & Acting School was founded in August 1982 and has been training talent in Central Florida longer than any other school of its kind. The school is recommended by top talent agencies and is the home of John Peros Casting, Central Florida’s busiest and most respected Casting Company.

Training in the core areas of On Camera Acting for TV, Commercials & Film, Professional Modeling and Image & Confidence Development.

Let’s move on to buying businesses – can you talk to us about your experience with business acquisitions?

I have been working at The Maile School Image, Modeling & Acting School for over 30 years. The Maile School has been in business since 1982.  (added)

I came here first as a student in the Image Program to build more confidence then enrolled in the Professional Modeling & Acting programs to pursue the industry of modeling & acting.

I knew it was important to get training so I would not get scammed out there in this industry. I heard good thigs about The Maile School so my parents decided to enroll me.

I started working here right after finishing my classes and been here ever since.

Bought the company in 2017.
