Alright, Jada thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
The idea for my business truly began during the chaos and uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic. Like so many parents, I found myself navigating the challenges of a suddenly virtual world, trying to balance work, home life, and my children’s education. I have two daughters, and seeing how the closure of schools and daycare centers was affecting their ability to learn really weighed on me. I could feel the frustration, the loss of connection, and the growing gap in educational opportunities for young students, especially during those formative years.
As an educator myself, I’ve always been passionate about creating quality learning experiences. But this situation—it felt like a crisis in education. I couldn’t ignore it. I knew that if I, as an educator, was struggling to ensure my kids had the resources they needed, many other parents were too. It wasn’t just about academics; it was about ensuring children had access to opportunities that would allow them to grow, explore, and develop in a meaningful way, even in a time when the world felt so disconnected.
Alongside that, I’ve always had a deep passion for addressing the gender gap in STEM fields. I wanted my daughters to know that they could thrive in any career, especially those in science, technology, engineering, and math, where women are historically underrepresented. This passion for both education and gender equity kept growing in me. I couldn’t ignore it—I was driven by a powerful sense of purpose.
So, I created a solution that would allow children to experience an engaging, hands-on educational journey—one that would prepare them for both academic success and future careers in fields like STEM. What excited me the most was the opportunity to not only bridge the educational gap created by the pandemic but also to empower young learners in a way that felt fresh and accessible. I knew that the future of learning had to be more flexible, interactive, and inclusive.
What made me most excited was the possibility of offering something that wasn’t just a temporary fix, but a sustainable and impactful way for students to continue their education despite the challenges. It wasn’t about simply filling a gap—it was about providing children with the tools, confidence, and curiosity they need to grow, regardless of the circumstances. This was my way of giving back, ensuring that kids, particularly young girls, could confidently pursue their passions, and helping to close the gender gap in STEM along the way.
That’s when I knew this was a worthwhile endeavor. It wasn’t just an idea; it was a responsibility. And I was determined to make it happen.


Jada, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m the founder of an educational venture that’s deeply rooted in my passion for empowering young learners, especially girls, with the skills and confidence to excel in STEAM fields. My journey into this industry was driven by a combination of personal experience and a deep sense of purpose. As a mother of two daughters and an educator, I saw firsthand how critical early childhood education is for shaping future success, particularly in subjects that are traditionally underrepresented by young girls. The closure of schools during the pandemic only heightened my desire to create a solution that would provide children, especially those who were struggling, with a high-quality, interactive learning experience that would keep them engaged and curious, regardless of the challenges they were facing at the time.
The services I offer center around providing hands-on, innovative learning experiences that bring STEM + Art concepts to life for young children. My programs are designed to be both fun and educational, emphasizing creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and curiosity. The goal is to not only help children understand the fundamentals of STEAM, but also to inspire them to see themselves as future scientists, engineers, artists, and innovators—no matter their gender.
What sets my business apart is the combination of two things: a strong foundation in educational expertise and a deep commitment to addressing the gender gap in STEM. I’m passionate about creating an environment where every child—particularly young girls—feels like they belong in these fields, whether it’s through a hands-on experiment, coding lesson, or building project. My approach is personalized, interactive, and adaptable, making sure that the learning experience is not only effective but also tailored to each child’s individual needs and learning style.
I think what I’m most proud of is the opportunity to empower young students with the skills and confidence to pursue their passions, whether in STEM or any other field. Seeing children discover their potential and realizing that they can solve problems and make an impact—that’s what motivates me. I’m also incredibly proud of the positive feedback I’ve received from parents who’ve seen firsthand how these programs have enriched their children’s educational journeys. It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that I’m making a difference in their lives.
For potential clients, followers, and fans, what I want them to know is that my work isn’t just about teaching kids—it’s about fostering a lifelong love of learning. It’s about ensuring that every child, regardless of background or gender, has access to the tools and inspiration they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Opening a business during a pandemic definitely required intrinsic motivation, resilience, and adaptability. Despite the obstacles, I developed a burden and a drive that recognized the unmet needs of others in the community. During that time, promoting our program and reaching our target audience was a challenge. But the solidarity displayed by parents in the community aspired me with the encouragement and support needed to continue in my efforts to provide exceptional learning experiences to children. Despite the uncertainties and obstacles, through passion and determination, I was able to create something positive out of challenging circumstances. I can now use this very example when encouraging and empowering youth they are more than capable to live out their dreams, despite roadblocks.


Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Starting my business during the pandemic was a leap of faith, especially given the limited funding I had at the time. I relied solely on my personal savings account to fund the initial phase of the business, which meant I had to be incredibly resourceful and strategic in how I allocated my funds. Careful planning was essential, as I knew that every dollar had to be spent wisely in order to build a solid foundation for my venture.
One of the first steps I took was to thoroughly research my business idea. I wanted to ensure there was a genuine demand for the services I planned to offer, especially in a time when so many families were struggling with educational disruption. I conducted market research to understand the needs of my target audience and what types of educational services they were missing. I reached out to local parents and organizations in my community, conducting informal surveys and polls to get a clear picture of the challenges they were facing and the kinds of solutions they were seeking. This helped me refine my services and ensure they would be truly beneficial to my potential clients.
In addition to research, I leaned on my network for support. My family and friends were incredibly encouraging throughout the process. Knowing how important this business was to me, they came together to give me a virtual “business shower,” where they purchased supplies and equipment that I needed to get started. This outpouring of support not only helped with the financial side of things but also gave me the emotional boost I needed to keep pushing forward.
Starting with limited funds meant that I had to take calculated risks and be flexible in how I approached everything—from marketing to operations. I focused on creating a strong online presence, leveraging free and low-cost tools to promote my business and reach potential clients. The goal was to make sure that the services I provided were valuable enough that word-of-mouth referrals would drive growth.
In hindsight, while funding was tight, it pushed me to be more creative and innovative. I learned to be resourceful, using every opportunity to stretch my budget while still offering a high-quality experience to my clients. Through research, support from my community, and a willingness to take risks, I was able to transform my vision into a reality.
