Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronald Ayala.
Hi Ronald, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always had a deep-rooted passion for law, ever since I was a kid. I grew up watching legal shows like Law & Order and would come home from school eager to catch People’s Court or Judge Judy. Those shows sparked something in me, a curiosity and determination to understand the intricacies of the legal world.
Pursuing this goal wasn’t easy. Law school was challenging, and navigating it during the peak of the pandemic added another layer of difficulty. It felt like the world was shutting down, but I knew I had to keep pushing forward. Despite the uncertainties, I focused on my studies and thankfully passed the bar exam.
Along the way, I’ve built up a steady clientele through word of mouth and networking. The relationships I’ve formed and the trust I’ve earned have been instrumental in my journey. Through hard work, and determination, I’ve managed to get to where I am today. It’s been a journey of growth and learning, and I’m grateful for every step along the way. But the journey of growth never stops—I’m always pushing myself to learn more, to do better, and to reach new heights.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Law school and studying for the bar pushed me to my limits. There were many moments when I questioned my decisions and the career path I had chosen. To succeed, I had to sacrifice a lot, including my social life, especially during the intense periods of law school and bar exam preparation.
Anyone who has taken the bar exam can tell you how grueling and mentally exhausting it is. I vividly remember the long days, studying for 12 hours straight, locking my phone away to avoid distractions, and sifting through endless pages of practice questions and outlines. The panic and anxiety that accompanied those days were overwhelming. Many people don’t realize just how much stress comes with the process. Years of hard work and schooling boil down to one exam, and at the time, it felt like my entire future was riding on that test.
There were countless sleepless nights and late-night study sessions, filled with doubt and fear, but in the end, it was all worth it. Every struggle, every moment of self-doubt, has shaped me into the lawyer I am today and I wouldn’t change a thing about the journey.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a New York State Attorney with a primary focus on Entertainment and Media law, though I do handle some general practice as well. My work involves representing a diverse range of clients, including singers, DJs, influencers, models, and producers. Entertainment law is often overlooked because it’s a niche practice area, but it’s incredibly important for creators in this space to have proper representation, especially when it comes to negotiating and finalizing deals.
What I’m most known for is my ability to get deals across the finish line. I’m deeply committed to advocating for my clients and ensuring that their interests are represented to the fullest extent. I pride myself on going above and beyond, striving to build long-lasting relationships where my clients have complete confidence and trust in me.
What sets me apart is my dedication to my clients’ well-being. Protecting their rights is always my top priority. I’m passionate about what I do, and I’m proud to be able to support creative professionals as they navigate the complexities of the entertainment industry.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about New York is the endless opportunity it offers. The career possibilities here are incredible, and there’s always something new and exciting around the corner. It’s a place where ambition and hard work can truly pay off.
What I like the least, though, is the traffic. I’m not the biggest fan of taking the train or subway, so I prefer to drive and listen to music. However, the costs of commuting can be pretty steep with all the tolls and recent price hikes. Plus, the traffic can be a brutal, sometimes it feels like hours of your day are spent just wasted by sitting in your car. It’s a “small” price to pay for working in the city, but it’s definitely a downside.
