Today we’d like to introduce you to Miranda Malone
Miranda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey to becoming a holistic grief therapist started long before I officially entered the field. I lost my mom when I was just 5 months old, an experience that profoundly shaped my sense of self and my passion for helping others. Growing up, I navigated the complexities of grief, identity, and belonging without a clear map, which inspired me to become the kind of support I wish I had during those times.
In high school, I fell in love with psychology and knew I wanted a career that combined my passion for helping others with my interest in understanding the human mind. After earning my graduate degree and entering the field, I began integrating holistic practices into my work, combining mind-body techniques, creative expression, and spirituality. Along the way, I faced my own personal challenges, including healing an anxious attachment. These moments of pain deepened my empathy and strengthened my commitment to creating a therapeutic space that feels safe, supportive, and transformative.
Today, I specialize in helping motherless daughters process their grief and find healing. My work is a blend of traditional therapy and alternative modalities, such as Hypnotherapy and Regression, offering clients tools to heal in a way that feels deeply aligned with their unique experiences. I feel honored every day to guide others on their paths to wholeness and meaning.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
While I know my soul planned this journey and work, it hasn’t all been a smooth road. Each challenge has shaped the therapist I am today. Losing my mom as an infant was the foundation of my journey, creating a deep sense of loss and disconnection that I carried into adulthood. Growing up without her, I often felt untethered, navigating milestones and relationships while grappling with the absence of maternal guidance.
Professionally, one of my earliest struggles were disappointing therapy experiences that left me feeling misunderstood and perpetuating a cycle of anxious attachment. It fueled my determination to become a therapist who incorporates holistic options to heal clients in unique and meaningful ways. Later, I faced the challenge of balancing my personal healing with the emotional demands of supporting others, which taught me the importance of self-care and authenticity in my work.
Alongside these personal challenges, I’ve worked to carve a path as a holistic therapist, integrating alternative modalities like psychospiritual exploration, hypnotherapy, and creative expression into my practice. It’s taken courage to blend these approaches with traditional therapy, but doing so has allowed me to stay true to myself and offer something unique to my clients.
While the road has been difficult, it’s also been transformative. Each struggle has deepened my empathy, strengthened my resolve, and allowed me to create a space for others to heal authentically.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a holistic grief therapist specializing in mother loss and supporting individuals through the complexities of grief and identity. My work goes beyond traditional talk therapy by integrating mind-body practices, creative expression, and spiritual modalities like energy healing and hypnotherapy. I believe in treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—while creating a safe, compassionate space for clients to explore their unique experiences of loss.
I am known for helping motherless daughters navigate the profound impact of losing their mothers, whether that loss occurred in childhood or later in life. I guide clients through the challenges of milestones, relationships, and unresolved emotions, helping them find meaning and healing in their grief.
What I’m most proud of is how my personal journey informs my work. Losing my mother at 5 months old has given me a deep understanding of the complexities of grief and a profound empathy for my clients. I feel honored to walk alongside them as they reclaim their sense of self and discover resilience.
What sets me apart is my holistic approach, blending traditional therapy with alternative methods. Clients come to me for a space that feels grounding, spiritual, and deeply validating, allowing them to heal in a way that feels uniquely aligned with their needs.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
For those just starting out, my advice is to trust the process and give yourself permission to grow into your role. Early on, it’s easy to feel the pressure to “have it all figured out,” but some of the most profound lessons come from your own experiences and from showing up authentically with your clients.
I wish I had known that it’s okay to embrace your uniqueness as a therapist. When I started, I felt a pull to conform to what I thought therapy was “supposed” to look like. Over time, I’ve realized that bringing my full self—my holistic perspective, spiritual practices, and personal experiences—into the work is what truly sets me apart and resonates with clients.
Another piece of advice: don’t underestimate the importance of self-care. The work can be emotionally intense, so building routines that replenish your energy and set boundaries is essential to longevity and effectiveness in this field. Finally, don’t be afraid to seek your own therapy or mentorship—it’s not a sign of weakness, but a testament to your commitment to your personal growth and the well-being of those you serve.
