Toney’s Accounting and Financial Services began with a vision: to empower businesses and individuals with the tools and knowledge to manage their finances effectively and thrive .It also stemmed from my passion for helping others and my love for the profession of accounting.

The journey began with a desire to fill a gap in the market. Many budding entrepreneurs struggled with navigating the intricacies of business registration, tax compliance, and financial planning. Recognizing this need, Toney’s Accounting initially offered these core services, building a reputation for reliability and personalized support.

Over time, services expanded to include bookkeeping, speaking engagements and workshops aimed at educating entrepreneurs, young professionals, and teens about the fundamentals of business and financial success. Today, my business continues to grow, guided by the values of trust, expertise, and a commitment to helping others realize their potential.

Like any entrepreneurial journey, the path for Toney’s Accounting and Financial Services has not been without its challenges. Building a business in the financial services sector required overcoming hurdles, both personal and professional, that shaped the business’s resilience and purpose.

One of the biggest challenges was starting a business in an environment where many individuals and entrepreneurs lacked a clear understanding of the importance of financial management. Educating clients on why services like business registration, tax compliance, and bookkeeping are vital for success was a key focus in the early stages. It took time, patience, and consistent effort to build trust and show the importance of these key items in business.

On a personal level, there were moments of self-doubt and imposter syndrome. Transitioning from a structured career in banking to building a business from the ground up required significant sacrifices and a leap of faith. Balancing the demands of entrepreneurship with personal struggles, including a legal battle for custody of my daughter, tested my resilience. The emotional toll of those months was profound, but it also fueled my determination to succeed.

Through it all, the vision of helping others achieve financial success and security kept the business moving forward. The support of clients, family and close friends has been instrumental in overcoming these struggles and shaping Toney’s Accounting into what it is today which is a trusted partner for individuals and businesses on their business journeys.
