We were lucky to catch up with Dylan Tyson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Dylan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
After finishing my education I knew I wanted to start a business in the food industry because of my years of experience and passion for it. I consider myself a taco connoisseur, however recognized that the market is saturated with taco options already, and one day the idea of an “Ice Cream Taqueria” came to mind. After doing some research on ice cream tacos that were already available and being made, I recognized that no business had an identity of an ice cream Taqueria.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve worked in the food industry since I was old enough to work, and earned a degree in business. After struggling to find a traditional career that I enjoyed I decided to pursue opening a business in the food industry. One day I came up with the idea of an ice cream Taqueria, and created a product that I believe is better than other ice cream tacos on the market in several ways. I have creative flavors, made using liquid nitrogen for the highest quality. My tacos make it more convenient to eat ice cream by giving you a balanced bite of the shell, ice cream, and toppings every time you take a bite. My mission is to convince people that ice cream is more enjoyable in taco form instead of the outdated ice cream cones
How did you build your audience on social media?
I gained a large following fairly quickly compared to other concepts in my industry because of how “Instagramable” my product is, and it’s uniqueness. I also incorporated my own personal identity into the content that I share, adding A little edginess and humor. I also took advantage of trending audio to add to Reels, as I recognize that Made it spread far quicker and shared much more

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe my strong branding helped me build a reputation in my market, along with how unique and new the product I had to offer was. Also, being a dessert I was able to make connections with popular food pop-ups and restaurant because serving together creates a mutually beneficial relationship
