Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Himani Pathak. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Himani, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
Writing the book itself was the most challenging part for me. I had an idea of what the book would be about, but I wasn’t sure what to do next. The next few months consisted of trial and error. Since it was my first time working on a book, I ran into a few inconveniences. The most important thing I had to figure out was how to be consistent with my work. Some days, I would write pages on end. But, other days would go by without any inspiration or work done. Once I got into the flow, the process became more achievable. The rest of the process involved drafting and rewriting. Though it was tedious, it made the book what it is today!

Himani, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Himani, and I am the author of Serenading the Sun. It was my debut as a writer, and I’m glad to be able to share it with you! My book was released when I was just thirteen years old. So, it holds a special place in my heart. Serenading the Sun incorporated all my favorite things. Music, Paris, and friendships!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of it is learning new things. With my book being centered around music, I found myself getting fascinated by it. Just like how my characters played music, I began to do so too. I found it ironic to see how my book was able to impact me in such a remarkable way. In addition to that, my writing capabilities have also improved. It’s a full circle moment for me. This book has rewarded me in innumerable ways!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
A couple of goals are to make a name for me and to pursue writing in the future. Having one book published opened the idea of publishing more! I have even started toying around with concepts for a second book! So to answer the question, I am inspired by the opportunities I have. Writing has been something that has transformed both my personal, and professional lives. It is something I will continue to do moving onward!
