Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sonia Mendoza. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Sonia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
As a child, I saw my parents work tirelessly. Despite both of them having graduated from College, the reality of Venezuela is completely different from that of any other country, so you have to do whatever it takes to survive. I saw my parents do everything: cooking, driving taxis, working in offices, having their own businesses, and much more. I never saw my parents stay at home doing nothing. Every morning, they would wake up and look for something to do.
In my childhood, I never lacked anything, and it was all thanks to the great effort they put in. I remember one time when my parents decided to make pizzas to sell, and I would often go with them on delivery runs.
I think the best thing my parents have taught me is to never give up. From them, I learned that no matter how many times I fall, what matters is getting back up.

Sonia , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those who don’t know me, I’m excited to share my story. I’m a passionate and entrepreneurial Venezuelan, graduated as a petroleum engineer in my home country. At 24, I decided to embark on a new chapter in my life and moved to the United States.
After many bad jobs, I finally found my calling as a nanny. It was at that moment that my life changed forever. I fell in love with the child I cared for, and that experience inspired me to create CLÖUD BABY.
CLÖUD BABY is more than just a brand – it’s an extension of my love and dedication to children. Our goal is to offer high-quality and safe products that help parents and caregivers provide the best possible care for their little ones.
I’m extremely proud of what we’ve achieved at CLÖUD BABY. I’m proud to have created a brand that not only offers high-quality products but also focuses on community and supporting parents. I feel fortunate to have a passionate and dedicated team that shares my vision and commitment to excellence.
For our potential clients and followers, I want you to know that at CLÖUD BABY, we’re committed to quality, safety, and innovation. We’re here to offer practical and effective solutions for parents, and to create a community that supports one another. We’re excited to have you on board!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When I first started with the idea of CLÖUD BABY, I had no idea how I was going to make it happen. I had no experience, I was in a new country, speaking a new language, and I didn’t have the financial resources to make it a reality. The only thing I could think of was to get two more jobs, save up the money, and use that money to pay people who could advise me on how to build my brand.
I have to admit that some of those advisors took advantage of me and never gave me the information I needed, but I didn’t give up. I spent two years of my life working from Monday to Monday, leaving my house at 7 am and returning at 8-9 pm, every single day. During my short breaks at work, I would research materials, colors, textures, and what I wanted my brand to reflect.
There was a period in my life – that very few people know about – where I got sick. I was ill for 10 months, attending doctor’s appointments, and I was exhausted. My body was telling me to stop, the pace of life I was living was inhumane. However, it’s easier to take my head off than to get an idea out of my head, so I didn’t stop. Against all odds, I continued to work my three jobs while also putting all my effort (and scarce free time) into building CLÖUD BABY.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
As the founder of CLÖUD BABY, I’ve learned a thing or two about leading a team and keeping morale high. One of the most important things I’ve discovered is the value of being a hands-on leader. I make it a point to show my team that I’m one of them, working just as hard as they are. I want the people around me to see that I’m not some distant figure, but someone who’s right there in the trenches with them, working together to make things happen.
Here are some other tips that have worked for me:
1. _Open and honest communication: Communication is key to any successful team. Make sure to actively listen to your team members and keep them informed about company goals, objectives, and changes.
2. _Recognize and reward hard work: It’s essential to recognize and reward your team members’ hard work and dedication. This can be as simple as public recognition or a small gift.
3. _Foster a positive and welcoming work environment: A positive and welcoming work environment can make a huge difference in team morale. Make sure to foster an atmosphere of respect, inclusion, and diversity.
4. _Be an accessible and empathetic leader: As a leader, it’s crucial to be accessible and empathetic with your team members. Make sure to be available to listen to their concerns and be understanding of their needs.
5. _Celebrate achievements and learn from mistakes: It’s essential to celebrate your team’s achievements and learn from mistakes. This can help foster a positive work environment and improve team morale.
6. _Maintain transparency and trust: Transparency and trust are fundamental to any successful team. Make sure to be transparent in your decision-making and actions, and maintain the trust of your team members.
