We recently connected with Hector Dominguez and have shared our conversation below.
Hector, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
When I started Professional Detailing Service in West Palm Beach, Florida, my vision was far greater than just creating a successful detailing company. As a Marine Corps veteran who served 16 years, I understand firsthand how challenging it can be to transition to civilian life, even with advanced education like a master’s degree in business. Corporate America often overlooks the unique skills, discipline, and resilience that veterans bring to the table. I wanted to change that narrative.
Professional Detailing Service is built on the principle of self-reliance and the desire to create meaningful opportunities for veterans who want to earn a good living by owning and operating their own business. Our mission is to establish a nationwide franchise model that empowers veterans in every state by providing them with the training and tools they need to succeed in auto detailing, paint correction, ceramic coatings, window tinting, and related services.
This business isn’t just about detailing cars; it’s about transforming lives. Through our training programs and franchise opportunities, we aim to equip veterans with a skillset they can immediately put into practice and a business model that supports their financial independence and long-term success.
Our mission is rooted in giving veterans a fair chance to thrive—not by handing them an opportunity, but by helping them build one for themselves. Veterans know what it means to lead, to commit, and to persevere. Professional Detailing Service is here to amplify those qualities, one franchise at a time.
Our ultimate goal is to create a network of veteran-owned businesses across the country that not only delivers exceptional service to customers but also serves as a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit of those who have served. Every car we detail, every franchise we establish, and every veteran we train is a step toward fulfilling that mission.

Hector, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Hector Dominguez, and I’m the founder of Professional Detailing Service in West Palm Beach, Florida. I served 16 years in the Marine Corps, including 8 years as a recruiter, and my experience in the military instilled in me a deep sense of discipline, leadership, and adaptability. Transitioning out of the Marines, I realized just how tough it can be to find your place in the civilian workforce—even with a master’s degree in business. That reality inspired me to create something meaningful, not just for myself but for others who faced similar challenges.
I founded Professional Detailing Service with a mission to empower veterans by providing them with a sustainable path to entrepreneurship and financial independence. Our services include comprehensive auto detailing, paint correction, ceramic coating applications, window tinting, and other specialized vehicle treatments. Every service we offer is designed to enhance and protect vehicles, but what sets us apart is our dedication to excellence and a personal touch that clients can trust.
For our clients, we solve the problem of maintaining and enhancing their vehicles’ appearance and longevity. Whether it’s restoring a car’s shine, protecting it from environmental damage, or simply elevating its aesthetics, we offer services that go beyond the surface. For veterans, we solve the problem of transitioning into a civilian career by equipping them with the skills, tools, and confidence to start their own businesses in the detailing industry.
Professional Detailing Service isn’t just a business—it’s a movement. What makes us unique is our commitment to veterans. We provide training programs that teach skills in auto detailing, paint correction, ceramic coatings, and window tinting, and we offer franchise opportunities tailored to veterans who want to own and operate their own businesses. Our approach is about creating long-term value, not just for our clients but also for the men and women who have served this country.
What I’m most proud of is seeing the impact this business has on both our clients and our team. For our clients, it’s the trust they place in us to care for their vehicles. For our team, it’s the transformation that happens when veterans realize they have what it takes to succeed as entrepreneurs. Watching someone go from learning the basics of detailing to running their own franchise is incredibly fulfilling.
At Professional Detailing Service, we don’t just detail cars; we create opportunities. Every car we work on is treated as if it were our own, and every veteran we train becomes part of a larger mission to build a network of successful, veteran-owned businesses.
If you choose to work with us, whether as a client or as part of our franchise family, you’re not just supporting a business—you’re supporting a vision of empowerment, excellence, and community. We’re proud of what we do, and we’re excited to share that passion with every client and every veteran we serve.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
What helped build my reputation within the market was a relentless focus on quality, consistency, and trust. From the very beginning, I’ve believed that every vehicle we work on is a reflection of our brand. That’s why we treat every detail—whether it’s a basic cleaning or a ceramic coating application—with the same level of care and attention as if it were our own car.
Another key factor has been communication. We take the time to educate our clients about the services they’re investing in, why those services matter, and how they benefit their vehicles in the long run. This transparency helps clients feel confident that they’re getting value for their money.
Word-of-mouth has also been a powerful tool. Satisfied clients share their experiences with friends, family, and colleagues, and that kind of organic growth has been instrumental in building our reputation. In addition, focusing on training veterans has brought a deeper purpose to our brand. Clients appreciate supporting a business that not only delivers exceptional results but also gives back to those who served.
Lastly, our reputation is rooted in the fact that we always deliver on our promises. Whether it’s arriving on time, finishing the job to the highest standards, or following up with clients, we make sure every interaction leaves a positive and lasting impression.

Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the most pivotal moments in my life came when I transitioned out of the Marine Corps after 16 years of service. I had spent nearly two decades in a structured, mission-driven environment, and stepping into civilian life was a huge adjustment. Despite earning a master’s degree in business, I found that opportunities in corporate America were limited. It felt like no one truly understood the value of my military experience.
That challenge forced me to pivot and take control of my future. I decided to build something of my own where I could not only thrive but also create opportunities for others facing similar struggles. That’s how Professional Detailing Service was born.
In business, a major pivot happened early on when I realized that running a detailing company wasn’t just about providing a service—it was about building trust and educating clients. Initially, I thought the quality of the work would speak for itself, but I learned quickly that clients wanted more transparency. I pivoted by shifting my focus to customer education, explaining the detailing process, the benefits of different treatments, and why quality matters. This change transformed how clients viewed our work and helped build lasting relationships.
Both of these pivots taught me the importance of adaptability. Whether in life or business, challenges are inevitable, but how you respond to them defines your success. For me, every pivot has been an opportunity to grow, evolve, and better serve my clients and my team.
