Salicrow, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Looking back at internships and apprenticeships can be interesting, because there is so much variety in people’s experiences – and often those experiences inform our own leadership style. Do you have an interesting story from that stage of your career that you can share with us?

My internship if you would call it that began in childhood as my great-grandmother was my first teacher of the psychic arts. I also went through a significant opening when I was 30 in which my apprenticeship was with spirit itself, as I was taught by 5 spirits. I wrote about this extensively in my first book ‘Jump Girl, the intitiation and art of a spirit speaker’. (a memoir, North Atlantic Press 2018)

Salicrow, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Salicrow is a Witch, Druid, and natural Psychic Medium who carries on the magical traditions of her Irish Traveler and Blackfoot heritage. With over 30 years of professional experience in the psychic arts, she offers psychic readings for individuals and groups and teaches workshops throughout the United States and internationally. She is the author of four books and lives in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. She is the author of 4 books- ‘Jump Girl, the Initiation and Art of a Spirit Speaker (a memoir)’, ‘The Path of ELEMENTAL WITCHCRAFT, A Wyrd Woman’s Book of Shadows’, ‘Spirit Speaker, A Medium’s Guide to Death and Dying’, and ‘Tarot as Storyteller, Cartomancy, Psychic Development, and Tartot’ (due for release June 2025).

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

In 2022 my second book ‘The Path of ELEMENTAL WITCHCRAFT’ came out and I was a guest on ‘Open Minds with Regina Merideth’ on GaiaTV. Within days of my interview coming out I had people from all over the world making appointments with me. (32 countries in total), This influx, that still continues (I have now been on Gaia twice) I have had to change the focus of my business from one that was primarily in person to one that is primarily online. Through this growth I have also been able to add one of my dream-works to the work table; sacred travel, bringing folks to the Celtic Isles in particular. I co-hosted a trip to Ireland last fall for 16 guests on Death, Dying, and Spirit Communication with Anne-Marie Keppel, and have trips to England and Ireland planned for 2025 teaching Activated Prayer & Spellwork in the UK, and Sacred Fire & Water Elemental Magic in Ireland.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I have built my business almost completely on word of mouth, and have spent very little on advertising. Instead I focused on being the best I could at my skill, and being compassionate. I did not have a model to build my business on as very few psychic’s are successful business practioners. Instead I used my father in-law who was a heating contractor as an example. He was always willing to talk about his work, anywhere, anytime. I also took pointers from the franchized home party businesses. Early on I spent 9 years working on the road in which I did home psychic parties and seances in a 1.5 hour radius of my home, as well as owning metaphysical stores. I gave up my last store/wellness center in 2019 after my first book came out and I was unable to keep up with my desire to teach, write, and provide psychic services to my clients while managing a large wellness center/store.
