We were lucky to catch up with Ray Jeremiah recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Ray thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?

I hope to leave a long-lasting legacy that resonates through generations. My goal is to inspire young creatives unsure about their direction or what they truly want to pursue. Anything is possible if you believe in yourself and are willing to put in the effort.

I believe people will remember me as a kind and overall good person with immense talent. I hope to be remembered for my talent, and my work ethic. and how I made people feel once they met me.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Ray Jeremiah, and I was born and raised in a small suburb just 15 to 20 minutes outside of Chicago. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Computers and Digital Media, with a concentration in Television Production, as well as a master’s degree in Marketing, both from DePaul University.

I began my journey in fashion styling about four years ago during the pandemic. With the world on lockdown and uncertainty looming, I turned to my closet for an escape. I started wearing my best outfits and posting them on social media. Gradually, I began to gain traction, and a male model reached out to ask if I would style him for a shoot.

Initially, I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew it was essential not to let self-doubt take over and to always put my best foot forward. To my surprise, the shoot was a success, and I finally felt as though I had discovered my true purpose.

What sets me apart in my field is my creativity in styling. I strive to differentiate myself by going against the norm for wardrobe stylists. I use my artistic skills to tell a story and elevate the overall concept of each shoot.

I take great pride in the reputation I have built for myself and the respect I have earned from my peers within the Chicago fashion scene. When people see my work, they can recognize the creativity, boldness, glamour, and edginess that I aim to convey in every project.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I believe my reputation was built on my consistent work ethic and the power of collaboration. Networking is crucial in this industry, and by working with other creatives like myself, I was able to produce some of my best work, which still resonates with others in the community.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

I believe the most rewarding aspect of being creative is the opportunity to reflect on the finished product. I take great pride in creating things I am passionate about, building them from the ground up into something I will be proud of 10 to 15 years from now.
