Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Christin Forsyth. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Christin , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
The idea to create a mobile nail salon,
specialize on people with special needs started from my experience working in a nail salon. I found out there was percentage of population were not able to get the service or reject it, because the installations were not properly designed to help elderly and people with poor mobility.
Nail techs usually have poor or none experience to deal with high risk clients and people with special needs. I always ask myself how to improve what can I do to help them because for some people nails care is not luxury especially when you get old you need to maintain your hygiene to improve your health. I have had the experience to be a homebound myself during the highest risk pregnancy.
during the covid pandemic finally I decided to start a mobile nail salon to help and provide the service that many need and are not able to have
with my service.
I provide not just manicures and pedicures I bring hope, joy, happiness and second chances to those home bounds of course it was not easy. I had to prepare and educate myself to learn what I needed to do to provide the most safe and secure professional service for high risk clients such as people with diabetic neuropathy elderly community.
I had to get certified as a medical nail technician and a podiatrist assistant going through internship with a podiatrist to finally be ready.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Christin Forsyth. I’m a medical nail technician and passionate about helping others.
I’m the owner of Flirty Nails Mobile. The first mobile nail salon in South Shore specialized to provide service to people with special needs and poor mobility. My services travel to assisted living facilities hospitals, trehabilitatin centers and houses.
I think there is no age limit for you to want to look good, the way you look has a lot to do with how you feel.
For me everyday counts. If I can help five or one it doesn’t matter the number of people. What matters is the happines I bring to them.
I know sometimes for those people I’m the only person they see in a day. Unfortunately beauty industry had forgotten about people that can’t make it to a regular salon.
Flirty Nails Mobile is not just about nails it’s about providing smiles, joy, conversations and personal experience. I’m proud of myself for what I do and I do it from the bottom of my heart.
We all know someone that struggles bending trying to cut
there toenails.
There are a lot of people with poor vision or you may have a family member mother, grandmother and father that you may wanted to help to cut thir nails but you can’t because you need special training and you are afraid to cut them.
I have family members contacting me because they take care of their parents at home and they don’t know what to do because nails just won’t stop growging and it is a high risk to take them out to a nail salon.
I truly believe that it’s a big need for more business. Like mine more certifications for regular nail technician so they know how to work and a special need clients.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I have learned we all have talent, a passion, something that can benefit others.
If you do what you enjoy , you will make a difference in someone’s life. we all can learn, improve and increase our knowledge to achieve our goals.
This world needs more empathy more love for others. Life is too short and we will not always stay strong. Young enjoy every stage of life they all have something to teach you. The most important lesson is to be humble

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Sometimes, we know what we want and where we are going. It’s only a matter of time and patience.
I started my business from zero, nobody knew about my business.
It took me more than a year, but I know it will be worth it because I’m creating a pat way for others to do the same and create a better future for all to have equal services.
