Yeidy, appreciate you joining us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
I am grateful and aware of the flexibility that comes with being a business owner. I’ve realized that for the most part, I choose my schedule, and I appreciate that. I absolutely do wonder about what it would be like to have a “regular” job though. In the corporate world, employees receive benefits such as health benefits, retirement, and vacation time. As business owners we are required to assign funds for that. A regular job would entitle less responsibilities. These topics have emerged during times of immense stress. Somehow, I continue getting pulled back into the field that I’m invested in. I love what I do! Expanding and delegating has been the solution for me.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I was introduced to photography in early adulthood. I would say around 2009 and became interested in the subject. I explored the field on and off until I established my business in the summer of 2016.
My name is Yeidy. I am Mexican American and bilingual. I speak fluent English and Spanish. I am lead photographer and offer photography services for events and photo sessions. I have also formed a trustworthy team and offer packages that include both photography and video for Quinceañeras and Weddings.
My photography specializes in milestones. I have photographed Quinceañeras, Weddings, Maternity, Newborns, Baptisms, Families, Graduates, Birthdays, Boudoir, and Portraits. I am proud to capture special moments for people to experience over and over again. Memories are to be cherished. My approach for your milestone is to capture your essence through my lens. My creativity along with your story will shine through in the images we create.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Photography and video have an impact on people’s lives and many times it goes unnoticed. For events, the whole day will pass and will be gone. Apart from the memories you hold in your mind, the only memories that remain are your photos and your video. In other situations, such as photo sessions, the time will pass, and those photos will remain. Your accomplishments, the beginning of a new phase in life, your emotions, or loved ones can be recorded through beautiful images. It is extremely rewarding to be the creator of the images that are important to you and your loved ones. It gives me joy when people see their photos and love them!
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Referrals.
