We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Carla Paola Gonzalez Lillo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Carla Paola, appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Have you ever experienced that moment in your life when you felt you had reached the pinnacle of your career, achieved steady progress, and found yourself in a financially stable and organized place? Everything seemed to be on track, right?
Now, imagine giving all of that up—right at that very moment—in pursuit of a dream you believe to be greater, yet with no guarantees, no certainties, just a leap of faith. It’s like diving into a pool without knowing if there’s any water.
That’s exactly what I did. I took a real “risk.” But let me add a little more tension to the story…
Imagine doing all of this with a 4-year-old daughter, my husband, and myself, moving to another country with a different language, hoping everything would work out. And all we had to rely on was just that—hope—and six suitcases.
Now that you’ve imagined all of that, let me tell you my story.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello! My name is Carla, and I’m from Mendoza, Argentina. At 18, I moved to another province to pursue a career as an air traffic controller. This path allowed me to achieve rapid financial stability, travel extensively, and continuously develop my skills while training others.
After building what I thought was the “perfect life”—a family, a home, a pet, and a stable career—the pandemic completely shifted my perspective. Suddenly, I had more free time than ever before, something I had never experienced. Within the first month of lockdown, I completed five year-long courses, a sign that I was running on autopilot.
For the first time, I paused to reflect on my life. I realized I was missing meaningful connections with my daughter, who played alone while I worked, and my husband, with whom I rarely shared meals. Despite having built a beautiful home, I wasn’t truly living in it. It was a tough reality to face, but it sparked a profound transformation.
I’ve always been deeply intuitive and spiritually attuned, meditating regularly since I was 18. This period of introspection led me to revisit my dreams and aspirations. I decided to channel my professional experience and passion for teaching into a new project: PANAMBÍ COACHING. My goal was to integrate soft skills training into the aviation industry. To start, I set myself the challenge of writing a coaching manual in 100 days.
The manual is now complete and awaiting publication. Through PANAMBÍ COACHING, I offer workshops and personalized coaching to aviation professionals, helping them develop vital interpersonal skills. Seeing the positive impact of my work and receiving heartfelt messages from clients has been incredibly rewarding.
During this creative period, I also discovered my love for writing. I started a blog and a podcast, delving into topics like mindfulness and spirituality. These passions inspired me to explore how practices like meditation could enhance automated and high-pressure work environments.
When the pandemic ended, my life could no longer fit back into its pre-2020 routine. I had changed, and my priorities shifted. My husband and I began seriously considering moving abroad to pursue new dreams. Though we often talked about it, I never thought we’d actually take the leap—until one day, we did.
What I haven’t mentioned yet is that I’m also a Medium, a gift I’ve had since childhood. About a year before leaving my job, I started sharing this ability with others, exploring holistic therapies like Access Bars Consciousness, past life regressions, and Akashic Records readings. After a transformative Access Bars course, my husband and I spontaneously decided to buy plane tickets and plan a move to Italy, where he holds citizenship.
It was a bold decision: selling everything we owned, resigning from our jobs, and starting fresh with nothing but six suitcases and hope. The journey was far from easy, but it has been the most magical and expansive experience of my life.
Now, at 35, I feel like I’m just beginning to discover life’s possibilities. Each day brings something new and beautiful. Today, I am a columnist for XMAG ES, a prominent Spanish fashion magazine, where I write about conscious living. I also work as a MEDIUM, channeling messages from spiritual guides and ancestors to help people worldwide.
Soon, I’ll publish my Aviation Coaching Manual, and I’m currently studying to fulfill my dream of becoming an air traffic controller in Spain. My journey is far from conventional, but it’s one I wouldn’t trade for anything.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
This question truly resonates with me, as I’ve asked myself countless times whether I loved what I chose to do or if it was influenced by my surroundings or something else. Over time, I realized that aviation has always been a passion of mine. Since my father is an air traffic controller, I’ve been connected to this world from a very young age. I’ve always seen it with a sense of wonder—it’s truly inspiring to see how humanity achieved flight, how it connects the world as a whole, “erasing borders” in a spiritual sense. It’s also an incredibly organized field, which is why I felt compelled to write about it. I’ve always been fascinated by how human beings thrive in such an automated environment.
So, going back to the question: if I could go back, would I choose the same career or specialty? Without a doubt, I’d say yes. What’s even more incredible is that, even with the chance to change my past choices from this new level of awareness I’ve reached—living a completely different life after starting from scratch—I’d still make the same decisions. The difference is that now, I’d make them from a different perspective, with new experiences, without comparing or looking back with sadness or longing. Dwelling in the past would only prevent me from fully enjoying this present moment, which is filled with so much happiness.
So yes, I’d choose it all over again, but this time with the strength of more than 15 years of experience that have shaped me into the resilient person I am today. Additionally, being able to share and embrace my gifts as a Medium and a writer has allowed me to grow into an even better version of myself.
I’ve learned so much along the way, but above all, I’ve learned to never lose HOPE—it’s my driving force, the reason I keep going. I now fully understand my mission in this life: to share and spread light, healing, wisdom, introspection, and love.
It may sound “romantic,” but that’s the sweetest gift this entire journey has given me. I feel like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be, on the best possible path for me. And not only that—I have the wisdom to recognize it, with gratitude, love and peace.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
I believe the most useful thing for achieving success—not just in my field, but in life in general—is self-confidence, self-awareness, regular meditation, and the development of soft or social skills. These are essential when it comes to building relationships, solving problems, and managing your emotions effectively.
The best version of yourself is out there, waiting to be discovered. To find it, you must step out of your comfort zone. Even when you think you know yourself and your surroundings well enough, the most valuable advice I can give you is this: challenge yourself. Step into discomfort—not to make yourself suffer, but to awaken the abilities and knowledge that lie dormant within you.
All you need is to wake them up, recognize them, and develop them, but this time from a new level of awareness. Growth is inevitable, and it teaches you so much about yourself that you may find yourself needing a new identity to align with who you’ve become. This is healthy—it’s maturity, it’s wellness, it’s a win-win.
There’s always something more out there for you. The real question is: are you ready to discover it?
