We recently connected with Latrisha Allen and have shared our conversation below.
LaTrisha, appreciate you joining us today. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
While Bellydancing in restaurants you sometimes get repeating customers. While I was working at Taverna Plaka, a young lady came up to me and told me that she was at the restaurant several years prior and remembered me dancings there…. And then provided the picture to prove it! She was so excited to see me still dancing there and I was excited that she recognized me. We took another picture to commemorate the occasion.
For sound healing business, I was at a birthday retreat and a couple stopped in with a very fussy baby. I asked if I could play for the baby to see if it would calm her down. They allowed it and I played my tibetan bowls for the mom and baby and the baby drifted off to sleep and stayed asleep for the rest of the night. The following morning, the baby woke up fussy again so I played for her again and she drifted off to sleep again. It was an amazing experience and a quick reprieve for the parents. They were very grateful and we found out that the G bowl was the bowl that helped the baby fall asleep.
In yoga, I had a woman who was new to hot yoga and was nervous about being in balancing positions without the use of the wall for support. I helped her with alignment and with some gentle encouragement she was off the wall before the end of class. She was excited as she had never had the courage to move away from the wall since she had started taking classes.

LaTrisha, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello everyone! My name is LaTrisha but I’m also lovingly referred to as Razi or TT. I am a Modern MENAHT dancer (commonly referred to as “Bellydance”), Yoga Instructor, and Sound Healing Facilitator. I offer event entertainment through Bellydance and private and group sessions for sound healing and yoga. I run these services through my business Inside/Out Wellness & Movement.
After grad school, I moved to Atlanta, GA to pursue a Bellydance career and in the process became a yoga instructor. As I moved through my yoga journey, I became proficient in meditation and sound healing. I enjoy all of these methods as they have helped me to bring joy, no matter how small, to my clients. From being amazed by or getting up to bellydance to grounding down and finding your center and increasing your mindfulness through sound healing and yoga. All three of these practices help with increasing wellness and movement for the mind and body no matter the experience level.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Absolutely! If I went back in time (and had the knowledge that I currently have), I would do it better and would have started earlier.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
