Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aireana Bishop. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Aireana, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

Being successful looks different for everyone, but for me I think it takes resilience and discipline. Constant sacrifice and focus on the bigger picture. Knowing there are no limits to your potential and you can change or start something new at anytime.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My love for lashes all started in 2017, when I was solely a consumer of lash extensions. Fast forward to 2 years later in 2019, I decided to take the love I had for lashes, and turn it into a career. I studied at Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute Houston- The Woodlands location, where I obtained my Esthetician license. Once graduating, and also obtaining an Eyelash Certification from Haus Of Beaute, my journey was finally ready to begin. During my certification completion I was offered a job, at Haus Of Beaute. I decided to move forward working part time, as I was also doing mobile lashing as well. It only took a few months for me to realize, mobile lashing wasn’t the ideal setting for me or my clients. So I decided to solely work at the salon, and while building up clientele I did administrative duties also. Through building a solid clientele, Covid, and taking on a manager role while lashing full time, the years came quick.
Before I knew it, I was there for 4.5 years and was booked out, that at times I couldn’t accept new clients. As amazing as my time was there, I knew I was capped out in my potential and it was time for the next step. So at the beginning of 2024, I decided to become my own boss and open my own private studio. Since residing in The Woodlands, I knew I wanted something way closer to me than my previous commute. After some thorough research, I found Phenix Salon Suites The Woodlands, which is located in the prime location of Market Street. It was the perfect fit, and I’ve been loving it so far! It’s just the right balance of luxurious, cozy, relaxing and private.

I do lashes, but I don’t “just’ do lashes. It’s so much more than what people think. It’s tedious and actually very serious, you’re literally working on someone’s eye with adhesive and tweezers involved. But, as intense as it can sound, it’s also so rewarding! Even though the power of lashes can be underrated to some, the way you make someone feel can actually change their life. I truly believe what sets you apart in this industry, is how serious you take your work and especially your customer service, and I take them both very serious. I also think of lashes like art, it’s not a one size fits all and each set should be tailored to each person. Since being on my own, I’ve obtained more education, especially on custom sets and now that is what I’m known for! I really wanted to focus on expanding my client reach, by being able to do any style that someone would want. But, I will always hold a special place in my heart for dramatic sets!

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

As so many know, social media is a HUGE part of marketing for a business, but I do still wholeheartedly believe that word of mouth is the strongest form of marketing. I would say that is my number one way of gaining new clientele and also being present on google, possibly underrated but it’s a game changer!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

The most recent one that comes to mind definitely would be rebuilding clientele. Through different seasons of my lash career, but specifically recently. It’s been one of the slowest time I’ve seen in the industry, and while also adding the economic hardships so many have faced that limited or eliminated luxury services.
