We recently connected with Jed Brian and have shared our conversation below.
Jed, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I’ve always had the creative/artistic but for as long as I can remember. From drawing, preforming in front of people and storytelling I’ve always loved to be creative. My interest in making films was after I saw Eli Roth’s “ Hostel”. After seeing that film it inspired me to go out and try to make my own film which I later did.

Jed, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Like I had said previously I have always loved to tell stories and got to the point where I was like”That would make a great movie idea”. But once I saw Eli Roth’s Hostel film it made me think I can actually do this. I started out small doing a faux trailer for a script I had written, then did a GoDaddy commercial contest and got 8th out of 539 videos. I finally decided to make the leap and make a full length feature.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I feel like the most rewarding part of being an artist is seeing the public react to your work. When I made my film “Unlisted Owner” there was nothing better than setting back and watching people react to the film. Laughing at the funny parts and being scared during the scary parts. Nothing better than that feeling.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I would say the best way people can support indie filmmakers is but there films via psychical media or stream their projects online. With the amount of content out there it’s very competitive for eyeballs. So taking the time to buy merch and watch their projects helps put funds back into their other projects.
