Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jordan Scruggs. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jordan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you tell us about a time that your work has been misunderstood? Why do you think it happened and did any interesting insights emerge from the experience?
Starting as FourTenIndo on Twitch, I faced the challenge of building from zero viewers, which felt like shouting into the void at first. Streaming helped me find not just an audience, but a community. Early on, my work was misunderstood—people saw me as just another streamer, not realizing how deeply my music and personality were intertwined. Over time, the supportive Twitch community began to resonate with my journey, allowing me to grow beyond the limits of local support in Baltimore. Through consistent effort, authenticity, and connecting with viewers, I cultivated a fanbase that genuinely understood and appreciated my music. This experience taught me that finding your people, even virtually, can create meaningful connections and help others see the full picture of who you are.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m “FourTenIndo” on Twitch and “Indo” in the music world—a creator who has built a unique space by staying true to myself. My journey began with a love for music and a passion for connection, which led me to streaming on Twitch. What sets me apart is my authenticity—I’ve never tried to emulate anyone else. Instead, I’ve carved my own lane, blending my personality and music in a way that resonates with my audience.
Through this approach, I’ve achieved milestones I once thought were out of reach: securing sponsorships, collaborating with some of my favorite artists, and building a supportive, engaged community. For anyone discovering me for the first time, my brand is about breaking boundaries, embracing individuality, and inspiring others to do the same.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
Non-creatives may struggle to grasp the emotional and physical toll of pursuing a creative journey. For one, the lack of support from peers can be disheartening. It’s difficult when people closest to you don’t understand or acknowledge the time, passion, and sacrifice your craft demands.
There are the sleepless nights spent perfecting content, fueled by the drive to meet personal standards that others might not even notice. Creativity often requires relentless effort behind the scenes, with no immediate payoff.
Relationships can suffer too, as the demands of this path often lead to misunderstandings or feelings of neglect from loved ones who may not see the bigger picture.
There are constant doubts—moments where it feels like success is unattainable—yet faith keeps you pushing forward. Financial strain is also a reality, as investing in your vision often means taking risks with little certainty of return.
Finally, the mental drain from balancing creativity with the pressure to market yourself is exhausting. Every win is hard-fought, requiring resilience, adaptability, and an unshakable belief in the power of your craft to make an impact.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My creative journey is fueled by an unrelenting mission: financial freedom, showing my son that no dream is too big, and proving to the world—and myself—that I’m destined for greatness. I’m not just here to participate; I’m here to dominate.
I want awards. Whether it’s a Streamer Award (Kai Cenat, I’m coming for that spot), a Grammy, or any accolade meant for me, I’m ready to claim it. But it’s bigger than trophies. It’s about walking in purpose, taking every blessing God has for me, and showing the world that when you stay true to yourself, the possibilities are limitless.
I’m not slowing down, and I’m not stopping. The world is mine for the taking, and I intend to take it all.
