Heather, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

Your Story by GIRL was created shortly after my own wedding. As a designer I have a desire to curate every detail when planning or creating moments and my wedding was no exception. I found it difficult to find options to customize all the various details of my day in a way that spoke to my personality and love story with my partner. I wanted my wedding to showcase our story and not just present as another beautiful wedding. This led me to start my own company to help future brides have more control over their aesthetics and let the details of their wedding to tell their love story – which is what “Your Story” represents.

Heather, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Your Story by GIRL is a graphic design business built for the wedding industry and non-traditional couples. I create custom designs for your day to represent you, your partner and your love story in every detail. Designs can translate to paper goods such as save the dates, invitations, information cards, or day of decor, like welcome signs, seating charts, bar menus, table number. I also create custom websites that can include RSVP integration and custom URLs. I’ll work closely with you to design your wedding in whichever way you envision that will let your story shine.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is seeing your work come to life. It is a wild experience to have something that started in your head come to life in a tangible object. Its even better when it brings someone else that same type of joy because they notice a detail and understands the story behind your design.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

Just like birthdays, everyone deserves to experience the magical moment of their wedding day, if they want to. Everyone should have the opportunity to have the big day of their dreams. My goal in providing this service is to help couples build that special day through thoughtful details and imagery that tell their story, even beyond the wedding.
