We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sara Roessler. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sara below.
Sara, appreciate you joining us today. Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?
Absolutely. Although being a business owner is incredibly hard and emotionally driven a lot of the time, there is more than one reason that I chose to be an entrepreneur and that is to be my own boss.
One benefit of that it getting to chose when and where I get to vacation. Nowadays, I take off two months in the Summer to focus on enjoying time with my loved ones and seeing the world. Although I do travel throughout the year, I make sire to have nothing on my weekend calendar as far as weddings go so that I can enjoy all the hard work I did the past year.
It may seem like the idea of “Never take a day off” is a good mantra but I firmly believe business owners need to set boundaries for their well being so that they will be fully ready to give the BEST to their clients.

Sara, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Sara and I am the proud owner of Diletta Elaine Weddings. I provide a top-tier cultivated experience for those wanting to take their wedding to the next level. Based in the capital of Texas, I plan parties all over the world and am ready to travel when you are!
Born and raised in San Antonio, I moved out to Austin to get a better taste of the event world after working as a wedding photographer in college. Although I loved this job, I knew I was way too ‘Type A’ to not be in charge or planning these events.
When a background in Film and Theatre, I like to see weddings a production that’s just a bit more intimate. My ideal couple wants nothing more than to have a good time and be married. With those two notes,I elevate the day by brining in second to none vendors who are ready to party.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Cheap doesn’t always mean you found a good deal. I used to pride myself in how ‘cheap’ my services were. I was giving discounts left and right when I first started out. I’ve learned from some pretty amazing vendor friends and networking groups the art of charging what you are worth.
I’ve learned the importance of never cheaping yourself out and when I talk to other vendor friends I make sure they know their worth too. They can always find someone cheaper but they cannot find another you.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Till the day I die I will always preach on how necessary networking is to business owners or people in the same field as you.
My #1 source of leads comes from the people I have met at events specific to our industry. I’ve been able to make relationships with people on meeting them somewhere where other likeminded people are at.
On top of that, I’ve often had the pleasure of working with these people at one point and get to vouch for them enough to work with them time and time again.
