We were lucky to catch up with Miss Trish recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Miss , thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I’ve always known I wanted to speak publicly because I loved to read out loud. I always knew I had a knack from entertaining people, because I used to recover compliments about my voice. In school, art & English classes were my absolute favorite subjects because of the creativity aspect. I always thought outside of the box, because I loved being unique.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am an advocate for self-love, and I know we hear that everywhere, but my approach is different. I showcase it with my books on self-discovery starting with children and working up to the adolescents, then women and men. I have books, games, I make encouraging videos because I believe we’re in a digital world now. As an emcee, the service I provide is relatable entertainment. I bring the excitement and energy with a unique twist to every event. The service comes with the love of knowing and reaching people through my own relatable stories or making someone in the room feel important. I’m most proud of achieving having products that people actually buy and use. My goal is to make a difference and from feedback I know I’ve done that and I plan on doing more of that by telling people’s authentic stories.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The lesson I had to learn is that : you’re not going to please everyone and that is okay.
I feel like as a content creator that is what we try to do when we first begin. However when you decide to accept yourself for who you are, know who you are and deliver your product authentically it makes it a whole lot easier. There is no need for comparison as that is the theif of joy.
Just being yourself is enough.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
The book that helped me is truly the year of Yes By Shonda Rhimes. This book changed my life so much, because it really made me tackle my greatest fears and sometimes accepting that life pivots and you just have to roll with it at times.
