We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shekia Murray a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shekia, thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
Since starting my business journey March 2020. I’ve touch so many internally damaged women; ones that suffer from childhood trauma and adult abuse.
Several women that have joined my model coaching 101 class has experienced life changing epiphanies that brought them back to self love. Many of these women lost themselves & sight of their worth at the cost of someone else who didn’t appreciate their value. I was once that women and after healing I have a light, a drive & a mission to share my story, my recovery and my strength to help the next women rise up.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I lost 145lbs over a course of 3 years.. I’ve been plus size my entire life, however during a rough patch in my adult years I allowed depression & relationship issues consume me & I completely let go of my health & self worth. I was at my lowest. I fought extremely hard to come out of that dark place I once was. Once I made it out I never looked back. The day I chose me was the most peaceful and reassuring day of my life because I knew I could bid on me & that I would not fail me, abandoned me or let me hurt. I also promised myself I wouldnt allow another soul to enter my peace again and inflict those upon me.
After pondering on this business thought for years I kept telling myself “Shekia you had to go through all of what you went through because one day you will need to help someone or people in that same position out of it because they aren’t strong enough alone or aren’t equipped” …. & at that moment I made a sound business decision to open arms and doors to women who are in a place I once was & get them out!
