Today we’d like to introduce you to Tori Diaz – Certified Wellness Practitioner
Hi Tori , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We started in the spirit around or about August, 2022. I lost 204 using the complete Laser Lipo System (+) a Health and Wellness Program. While on my weight loss journey I had to travel back through my trauma from the age of 6 being sexual abuse then later traveling down the road of Human Trafficking and I was 8 month pregant my child’s father cracked my ribs, and shattered my jaw, and dislocated my eye which is called, Domestic Violence was disheartening but it was a walk through the eye of the storm and fire but my Lord and Savior never left me nor did he foreake me. In my mind I never wanted another woman, girl, child or infant to go through what I went through ALONE my weight gain up to 364 pounds at 5’7, was my secondary diagnosis my abuse was coming to the surface. In the meantime I sought a position in the Laser Lipo and Health and Wellness world but no one would hire me with no experience, however I could not gain tangible experience without being hired and given a chance. The spirit spoke to me and said gain some certification! I searched for proper certification and started researching the industry ie: when it started in the United States by way of the U.K. in or around 1926. I completed my 1st certification in August, 2022 to date I hold 14 certifications. Now as a C.W.P. (Certified Wellness Practitioner) I am going above and beyond the surface of the Laser Lipo deemed Body Contouring / Body Sculpting, However “others” would downplay the industry hence my using the term “Laser Lipo” for professional technical reasons. I continue each year to gain and obtain certifications(s) and continued research on Wellness.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
laughing… There have most definitely been some stumbling blocks and obstacles finding a mentor for the industry and linking up with another provider for guidance and insight has been a very narrow and lonely road. Hence my vision to never let another woman regardless of her race, creed, color or religion, walk the path to business ownership or financial freedom. The business is very much self-funded. I have not received any bank loans or grants. I tell women all the time I put money away per pay check by being diligent in spending habits, forsaking going to the nail salon every two weeks (laughing) your current job can fund your dream and vision.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
What were you like growing up? Personality wise, interest wise, etc. >> Being bi-racial it was very different. I was too dark for most “white” girls and too light for the “black” girls. Where do I fit in? I always had to choose being Dominican, black or American. I did not like cartoons AT ALL, (smiling) I normally watched: wild kingdom, or animal shows, documentaries or the history in general, write in my journal, or went to the library to take my mind away from where I was. I was a loner and very introverted. I stared off in class a lot. The teacher called me the problem child not knowing I was being abused by my Step-GrandFather. I travel to teach educators, police force or anyone wanting to learn the warning signs.
