Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyneida Alanos
Tyneida, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I would have to say I started with passion. Even as a child, passion has always most certainly been the driving force behind my actions and life choices. How I got to where I am today, I would have to say it was all by faith, passion, determination, resilience, intellect, and respect for myself as well as all those who I’ve encountered.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a smooth road at times, but yes there have also been obstacles and challenges along the way. I would say some of the struggles along the way have been environment. Growing up in an urban community you face many adversities as well as successes. Some of those adversities faced in my community were gentrification, limited community resources due to over population, and a high crime rate amongst each other within the urban community. On a more positive aspect of things, there have also been many successes on this journey such as character growth, higher education, community building, and most importantly entrepreneurs, passionate leaders, and future leaders that genuinely love their city/county for me that would be Essex County,NJ.
We’ve been impressed with Urban Travel Experience, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Urban Travel Experience is a non-profit organization that provides services for the youth communities of Essex County NJ. Urban Travel Experience provides parents a practical alternative to the expenses of traveling with a child at any age. These experiences can significantly boost their development. Urban Travel Experience is known for providing an experience through recreating cities, states and countries. All while providing an educational and fun experience through cultures, food, music and all the great things that make these cities, states, and countries a historical staple in and around the world.
I believe what sets me apart from others personally is my uniqueness and individuality, after all that is what makes us all so very different from one another.
Brand wise I would have to say I am most proud of actually accomplishing and establishing Urban Travel Experience (UTE) as a brand!
I would love for the readers to know that here at Urban Travel Experience we are a family and we’re winners together building our youth/community up one step at a time. Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My advice for finding a mentor or networking in general would be to stay true to yourself. Do what feels right for you, make sure it makes sense. It should be in alignment with your values, morals, principles, beliefs, and overall goals. Prayer and patience has worked well for me, allowing me to only take steps that feel right and are in alignment with me and my purpose work.
