We recently connected with Jessica Fernandez and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jessica thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I truly believe that to be successful in life, and build long-term financial stability and success, all it takes is passion & making sure you surround yourself with the right people. When you love what you do, success and financial long-term stability follows. Whether its pursuing a dream goal or finding a cause, or business venture that really resonates with who we are as a person. We are all born with natural born gifts, and I feel once we tap into that on a healthy emotional, mental , physical and spiritual level, we can accomplish anything we set our minds to. Everything we need will flow into our lives easily and effortlessly, the moment we let go of the outcome, and trust the universe around us. Once we do, the doors of opportunities will start to open with little effort on our part. We meet the right people, who go out of their way to help us, or connect us with the resources we need to accomplish our dreams and/or goals successfully. Every day, things feel as if they are falling into place naturally. This is when you know, you are on the right path to reaching greatness, and fulfilling your true potential in life.
It’s one of the greatest life lessons I have learned, and it took me until my late 30’s to really start living my life with this mindset. I have lived a complicated life, but have used my life experiences as a catalyst to step outside of my comfort zone, and pursue a life I really have always wanted. For so long, these goals seemed impossible to reach, because of my current circumstances. I lived many years in fear of failure, and because of this, I held myself back from really doing the things I really believed in my heart, I was meant to do. But, one day, I decided, I no longer wanted to hold back from doing what my heart was encouraging me to do. So I trusted in the universe, and started taking steps to accomplish my goals, one day at a time.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a Coldwell Banker Sales Associate for over 3-years, and a avid Advocate for Domestic Violence and United for ALICE movement. Born and raised in Central, New Jersey, and now residing in Hillsborough Township, NJ. I have two children, a college aged daughter Isabella, and a 5-year old son, Isaiah. During my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, writing non-fiction & journaling, binge watching Hallmark movies, and international tv shows (because I am fascinated by how people in other countries live), and spending quality time with family and friends.
After years, of holding various positions within the corporate field, I decided to leave the corporate life behind during the pandemic, and take steps to build a more fulfilling, passionate career path for myself. I started by getting my real estate license, and building my business on the “seeking to serve” mentality. I not only thrive to help families buy and sell their homes, but build long-term relationships and connections that will help me grow as a business woman, and inspiring philanthropist. I hope to continue to use my success, and platform to continue to advocate for causes I am passionate about, and help encourage positive change.
I feel one thing that may set me apart from others, is that I approach every situation or challenge in my life, with a lot of heart and compassion. I care very deeply about topics involving social and economic justice, childcare, resource programs for children with special needs, domestic violence, single parenting, and families living below or just above the Federal Poverty line. I especially love helping first-time home buyers, veterans, and those considered essential workers, understand the home buying process, and the options available to them. Because I deeply believe everyone deserves a chance to buy and own a home one day, and have an opportunity to build sustainable, long-term financial security for themselves and their families.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
From the very start, I understood the importance of building my social media audience organically. For me, it was about finding the right balance between professional insights and personal connections. One day, I’m posting a video of my latest listing or open house. The next day, I’m posting a cooking, inspirational/educational post or funny Tik Tok reel. I wanted to share my journey to reaching my goals, both the good and bad. Consistently sharing content that aligns with my mission has allowed me to provide value, education, inspiration, and hopefully even entertainment. I wasn’t focused on the number of followers, but more on being able to keep my current ones regularly engaged. I knew this was the key to building long-term success on any social media platform.
For those just starting out, remember that consistency and authenticity go hand in hand; connect with your followers on a professional level but don’t hesitate to share personal insights that make your mission relatable and human. Everyone wants to follow someone on social media they can relate to on some level. Focus on the quality of content you post, rather than the number of likes and shares you get at first. Let your voice, story and passion come through naturally, instead of trying to fit a certain mold or current trend. If you do this, you will attract the right audience. These followers will hopefully become your loyal followers, and continue to engage with your posts.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I read “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrnes back in 2010, and it completely changed the way I saw the world around me. It helped me undo years of insecurity and depression. It gave me hope that with the right mindset, I had what it took to build a life full of happiness, passion and joy. Already an avid reader, I became obsessed after this book, with the “self help” genre, and read book after book of worldwide leaders and experts who spoke about the law of attraction principles. Books by Dr. Joseph Murphy, Abraham Hicks, Eckert Tolle, Bob Proctor, are just a few of my favorites. I also have adapted the principle of starting and ending my day with something positive. Whether its reading a book, watching a uplifting, funny or positive show or UTube video, or evening listening to a inspirational podcast episode. I truly believe that starting your day with something positive, sets the tone for the rest of the day. I see and feel it everyday in my own life.
