We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Keon Davinci a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Keon , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Growing up, I always had a natural affinity for movement—whether it was breaking into freestyle routines with friends or mimicking poses I’d seen in fashion magazines lying around the house. As a kid, I was always picky about clothes, and as I got older, my sense of style started to evolve. This led me to dress up more and experiment with fashion.
Dancing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, but I started taking it seriously around middle school. At the same time, I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset—I’ve wanted to be my own boss and create something of my own. Since I’m passionate about fashion, I’ve been working on starting my own clothing brand, and it’s slowly coming together piece by piece.
YouTube was another dream of mine, but I was hesitant to start because I didn’t know what direction to take and cared too much about what others might think. In 2023, a close friend encouraged me to just go for it, and since then, I’ve been posting consistently. Now that I’m older, I don’t let fear or judgment hold me back—I post what I want and focus on doing what’s best for me.
Looking back, I’ve realized that art, movement, and business don’t have to exist in separate spaces. They can come together to amplify one another in powerful and meaningful ways, and that’s exactly what I’m working toward every day.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Keon, a proud Gemini, and someone who thrives on creativity and individuality. I would describe myself as fun, outgoing, caring, and passionate about everything I do. In my free time, I love cooking, dancing, going for walks, shopping, watching movies, and sometimes just enjoying my own company.
I got into the fashion and entertainment industry because I’ve always been drawn to self-expression. Dancing has been a part of my life since I was a kid, and it became something I pursued seriously in middle school. Fashion was another passion that developed naturally over the years—I’ve always been picky about clothes, and as I grew older, my style evolved into something that felt uniquely mine. Combining these two loves, I found a way to express myself and inspire others.
Currently, I’m building a brand that reflects my interests in fashion, movement, and entrepreneurship. I’m working on launching my own clothing line, which I want to make accessible and stylish, catering to people who want to stand out and feel confident in what they wear. Additionally, I create content on YouTube, sharing my journey and interests, which range from fashion tips to lifestyle insights.
What sets me apart is my aura, my personality, and overall my authenticity and my belief that art, movement, and business can coexist to create something powerful. I’m not just trying to sell products or ideas—I’m sharing pieces of myself with my audience. I want people to feel inspired to embrace who they are, to take risks, and to go after their dreams without worrying about what others might think.
I’m most proud of taking those first steps toward my goals, whether it’s starting my clothing line, putting myself out there on YouTube, or staying consistent in my craft. The main thing I want people to know is that my work isn’t just about me—it’s about creating a community and empowering others to be their authentic selves. Whether it’s through my fashion, dance, or content, I want people to feel seen, inspired, and connected.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building my audience on social media has been a journey of growth, experimentation, and staying true to myself. I’ve had my page for almost seven years, and in the beginning, I focused on posting dance videos almost daily. Dance was my first love, and my videos often went viral, which helped me gain traction early on. As I grew and my interests evolved, I started taking fashion more seriously. That shift in focus brought in a whole new audience—people started noticing my style and how I expressed myself through clothing.
Another big part of growing my platform has been supporting and interacting with others on Instagram. Building genuine connections and showing love to other creators has been key to growing my network. I’m also naturally a funny and outgoing person, so I let my personality shine through my content. That’s something that carries over to my YouTube channel, which has been doing really well. My channel gives people a chance to connect with me beyond just photos and videos—it’s a space where I share my life, my humor, and my journey.
For anyone just starting out, my biggest advice is:
Be consistent. Show up for your audience regularly and create a rhythm they can rely on.
Post quality content. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but put thought and effort into what you share.
Do what you love. Always post content that genuinely excites you—it keeps things authentic.
Engage with your audience. Listen to your supporters and give them what they want to see while staying true to yourself.
Tune out negativity. Adopt a mindset where you don’t care what others think. The journey is yours, and you’re doing it for you, not anyone else.
Remember, building a presence takes time, patience, and staying authentic. Focus on what makes you unique, and let your personality and passion shine through in everything you do.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn is that not everyone around you has good intentions or wants to see you succeed. For a long time, I believed that if you were genuine, loyal, and supportive to people, they would return the same energy. But life has a way of showing you that some people only stick around for what they can gain from you, not because they truly value you.
This taught me a valuable life lesson: protect your energy and surround yourself with people who genuinely support you, not just the version of you that benefits them. I’ve learned to set boundaries and be selective about who I let into my circle. Now, I focus on building meaningful relationships with people who align with my values and uplift me, just as I do for them.
Life has also taught me that it’s okay to let go of people who no longer serve your growth. It’s not about holding grudges—it’s about preserving your peace and staying focused on your path. Fake friends and negativity are distractions, and once you let them go, you make room for real connections and opportunities to thrive.
