We were lucky to catch up with Jacob Husari recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jacob, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Have you ever seen (or implemented) a really awesome way to show a client you appreciate them
First and foremost, without the support and trust from our clients to welcome us into their home or establishment we wouldn’t still be open today. I am so grateful for the opportunity the community gives me to make their spaces feel fresh and clean again. This is a small, community-driven company that thrives on excellence and providing the best service possible for our valued clients. The best thing I’ve done to show this appreciation is done at every job. I show up on time, thank them for having me in their home, give attention to the little things like putting up corner guards or providing plastic shoe coverings for them. That way, when the job is done they can walk on the floor. I provide the best job possible and keep a good attitude, remembering to stay grateful and positive. Last but not least, I communicate with them. I know that sounds obvious, but a little communication goes a long way. I’ll ask about certain areas they want me to address, and after the job, we do a post cleaning inspection to make sure they’re happy with the job provided.

Jacob, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
my name is Jacob and I was raised here in town. For most of my teenage years and adult life I worked at my dad’s local grocery store, Jerry’s Market, in East Nashville, TN. It’s still there today and he works everyday. He really instilled hard work ethics into me and the experience over the 15 or so years really helped me learn how to communicate with people. All walks of life walked into that store, just like how everyone needs floor care services. So I was able to translate that level of customer service expertise in the retail field over into the service industry. I switched over to get out from under my father’s shadow (not that there’s anything wrong with that) and try to find something I was more passionate about. As much as I loved seeing and working with my dad everyday, retail unfortunately is going downhill with the advent of the online marketplace so I saw the writing on the wall and decided for a career change. I always loved mowing lawns for how rewarding it was to marvel at the finished job once it was completed. Who knew that when I accepted the carpet cleaning job in town that it had a similar effect. Since then I’ve had so many beautiful moments transforming people’s floors into clean spaces for families to spend time together on. There is a lyric in one of my favorite songs by the talking heads that says “Never for money always for love” and it always spoke to me, but I never could relate to it fully until I started working in this field. It’s hard to explain that type of feeling, but it’s real and I want and hope that everyone gets to experience getting the chance to do something they truly love for a living.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Getting IICRC certified as a technician in multiple fields, and getting accredited by the better business bureau.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I remember when I was first starting up in September of 2023. I was terrified. The fear of the unknown is the folly of man I’ve heard, so instead I decided to call my Dad and ask him a million questions instead. He started up in 2007 and is still going strong in retail, a tough industry in today’s world. He said something (totally from a movie, but whatever, it helped me tremendously) that spoke volumes. As I was asking all these anxiety fueled questions he just said “if you build it. they will come.” So I did just that. Now people are calling the business everyday and I am just so grateful for that. I really can not thank the people who support me and trust me enough to come into their homes and clean for them. That means so much to me.
