We were lucky to catch up with Kimberly Mae Hulloa recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kimberly Mae, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
The most significant risk I have taken in my career has been balancing my professional work while simultaneously pursuing my goal of becoming a content creator. Throughout my journey, I have experienced many sleepless and stressful nights, but I remained confident that the effort would eventually pay off. Embarking on my path as a content creator was particularly daunting, as I initially believed it might interfere with my role as a mental health therapist. However, I found a way to seamlessly integrate both passions. While my content does not offer professional advice due to ethical considerations, I incorporate my knowledge of psychological theories, mental health, and relationships to provide thoughtful guidance in areas such as makeup tutorials, GRWM, and vlogs.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am an active content creator, primarily on TikTok (@kimberlymaeh), where I began my journey just over a year ago. After experimenting with various approaches, I started to see success within the first few months. Initially, I focused on beauty reviews, but eventually transitioned into more educational and advisory content. Over time, I successfully integrated both areas, which became my primary niches. The success I experienced on TikTok inspired me to expand my presence on Instagram, and I am now working on building my YouTube channel, following the same core concepts.
What sets me apart from other creators in my niche is my commitment to authenticity and my constant consideration for my followers and community. With my educational background, I am always mindful of the content I produce, ensuring that it is respectful, inclusive, and thoughtful. Central to my personal brand is a focus on mental health wellness, inner beauty, and empowering others to cultivate confidence in all aspects of life
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
One of my core missions is to inspire others to not limit their opportunities to a single path. As someone who once struggled with the belief that I had to choose between a professional career and a creative one, I now realize that it is entirely possible to pursue both and find success in each. While I won’t claim the journey is easy—it requires hard work and dedication— it is incredibly rewarding and full of exciting opportunities.
Although content creation is not currently my primary source of income, it has provided lucrative opportunities and helped expand my network, connecting me with beauty brands, fellow creators, and community organizations that I otherwise may never have encountered.
I want my community and followers to understand that anything is possible. With the right mindset, we can achieve more than one goal throughout our lives, and there are no limits to what we can accomplish.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
In my view, it’s important for society to recognize that social media has become a significant part of our lives. While it is often criticized for its negative impact, it also offers considerable opportunities. I’ve frequently heard professionals discussing the detrimental effects of social media, yet we often overlook its potential as an educational tool and a legitimate career path that can lead to substantial success.
As a society, we need to adopt a more respectful attitude toward individuals in creative careers. Just because someone is a ‘content creator’ or ‘influencer’ does not mean they are uneducated or undeserving of lucrative opportunities. It’s essential to acknowledge the value and hard work behind these careers and the unique skills they require
