We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Eric Rush. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Eric below.
Eric , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
For years, I lived without a mission. After returning home from combat, I carried invisible wounds—PTSD, guilt, and addiction—that left me feeling lost. The breaking point came when addiction led me to prison, and 30 days in solitary confinement forced me to confront myself. In that silence, I began to see my life differently. Every mistake and every moment of pain had given me a story, and for the first time, I wondered if sharing that story might help someone else.
Starting a podcast was terrifying at first—my hands shook, my voice cracked—but I spoke honestly about my struggles and the lessons I’d learned. I didn’t think anyone would listen, but then I received a message: “Hearing your story gave me the courage to talk about my own pain.” That moment changed everything. I realized that storytelling wasn’t just about healing myself—it could connect people and create hope.
That’s why I founded Prime Pitch Podcast Network. It’s not just a business; it’s my mission to amplify voices and create purpose-driven conversations. I’ve seen how sharing stories builds connection and inspires change, whether it’s helping someone struggling with mental health or bringing entrepreneurs together to dream bigger. Your voice matters. Your story matters. Start small. Speak it out loud. Because when you share your story, you light the way for someone else
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Eric Rush, the CEO of Prime Pitch Podcast Network Inc., but my path here wasn’t straight or smooth—it was a rollercoaster with some serious drops. For years, I tried to do life my way, but it just wasn’t working. Then came a turning point—rock bottom, the kind that forces you to rebuild or break. In rehab, I learned the power of “humbling myself to the learning,” and that changed everything.
I became the first in my family to go to college. At first, it felt like stepping into a world where I didn’t belong, like wearing someone else’s shoes. But I stuck with it, earning not one but two bachelor’s degrees—one in Digital Video Production, the other in Film—and later, a master’s degree in Learning Technologies and Virtual Communications. Those degrees weren’t just pieces of paper; they were my proof that change is possible.
I’m also proud to have earned two Bronze Stars during my military service. Those moments taught me what resilience really means—finding strength even when you feel empty. But my proudest achievement isn’t an award or a degree—it’s finding Courtney, my beautiful wife. She’s the light that keeps me going, the partner who makes everything worthwhile.
At Prime Pitch Podcast Network, I’ve taken all those lessons and built something bigger than myself. We create podcasts that aren’t just noise—they’re voices that matter. Every story we tell is a lifeline, a bridge, or a spark for someone out there.
Life taught me that transformation isn’t about one big leap; it’s about showing up every day, building brick by brick, and never giving up on your story. That’s what we do at Prime Pitch—we help others do the same, one story at a time.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
For years, I believed silence was strength—that keeping my pain and struggles to myself made me stronger. But 30 days in solitary confinement shattered that illusion. I realized silence wasn’t protecting me—it was isolating me.
When I finally spoke my truth through podcasting, something incredible happened: people listened. Sharing my story didn’t make me weaker; it connected me to others and gave me purpose.
The lesson I had to unlearn was that silence is strength. True strength comes from vulnerability—using your voice to heal, connect, and inspire. And that’s now the heart of everything I do.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building an audience on social media wasn’t something that happened overnight. For me, it started with a clear purpose: to share my journey and connect with people who could see themselves in my story. I knew I wanted to reach veterans, thought leaders, and anyone searching for resilience in the face of adversity. But turning that vision into a thriving community required a mix of honesty, strategy, and consistent effort.
One of the first posts I shared was about the lowest point in my life—sitting in a solitary confinement cell, questioning everything. I described how that silence forced me to confront my failures and start building a mission. That post resonated deeply. The comments flooded in, with people saying it made them feel seen and inspired them to reflect on their own struggles. That’s when I realized the power of authenticity. By leaning into my story and sharing unfiltered moments, I wasn’t just posting content—I was starting conversations that mattered.
If you’re just beginning your journey, start with your “why.” Know who you want to reach and focus on content that aligns with your purpose. You don’t need perfect production values—just show up consistently and be real. Social media is about relationships, so engage with your audience in meaningful ways. Ask questions, join discussions, and show people they matter. And don’t be afraid to experiment. Some posts will flop, but others might surprise you and spark unexpected connections. The key is patience. Building a community takes time, but when you approach it with authenticity and heart, the audience you build will amplify your mission in ways you never imagined.
