We recently connected with Julie Kennedy and have shared our conversation below.
Julie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you share a story about the kindest thing someone has done for you and why it mattered so much or was so meaningful to you?
I have been fortunate enough to have been the recipient of many kind acts of service. But this particular kind act from my doctorate program professors at Texas Christian University stands out. When I was entering my last year of my doctorate program, I was getting a divorce and going to have to quit the program. My professors nominated me for a grant that provided a monthly stipend to live on and financial aid for school. Because of their generosity, I was able to finish my program and do what I do today!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Over the past 30 years, I have studied both traditional and functional medicine/integrative health. During that time, I have had my own personal chronic health challenges that led me to searching for solutions that would help me heal and improve my quality of life. Using what I have learned from my own health journey, which is what sets me apart, I help clients achieve optimal health through lifestyle guidance. I am most proud of finishing school under tough circumstances and starting my own functional medicine practice. My practice, Seed Wellness Co., offers functional medicine, advanced labs, nutrition and health coaching, nutrient IV therapy, ozone and ultraviolet blood irradiation services, chelation, and detox treatments to guide individuals to wellness. Our goals at Seed Wellness Co. are to help people truly heal through personalized lifestyle medicine that treats the root cause(s) of illness. We are also passionate about promoting longevity and enhancing performance in life!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Last year, I struggled with mold toxicity. I got so sick that I had to quit a job that I loved at a functional medicine clinic in Dallas. I worked to get well and started my own clinic. I am now a mold certified provider and help others with mold toxicity.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Having passion and empathy for the clients we work with. I have had personal experiences with many health issues such as autoimmune, mental health, and mold toxicity that help me relate to my clients.
