We were lucky to catch up with Adriana Martinez Grau recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Adriana, thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?

I had a client who worked from home three days a week, but her dining room was so cluttered that family meals became a challenge. The house received very little general light, and the good natural light was blocked by dark curtains.

Initially hesitant to invest in interior design, she recognized the need for help in creating a functional and harmonious space. Together, we focused on three key changes: 1. Cleaning and organizing, 2. Brightening the space, and 3. Adding decorative accessories.

This project made me very happy because it wasn’t just about creating a design; it was about providing a solution for my client. It transformed her life, both with her family and in her work.
Now, she is more efficient at work and can share amazing moments with her family at dinner time.

I’m Adriana Martinez Grau from Bogotá, Colombia, a professional business administrator with 20 years of experience in marketing at L’Oréal Colombia, which ignited my passion for the beauty industry. After the pandemic, I shifted to consulting in furniture design, which led me to discover my love for interior design.

Three years ago, I moved to Texas and, despite working in the financial sector, pursued my dream of starting an interior design company. In late 2023, I founded Grau Studio Interior Design in Dallas, TX, aiming to revitalize spaces to bring beauty, functionality, and happiness to our clients.

Grau Studio specializes in creating cozy, welcoming homes with a focus on emotional well-being.
Our main services include:

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative in interior design is the ability to transform spaces into experiences that deeply impact people’s lives. It is not just beautifying a place; It is turning a house into a home, where every detail reflects the personality and needs of those who live there. Seeing the excitement in a client’s eyes when they discover how their space now inspires calm, joy, or functionality is a powerful reminder that our creativity has the power to change lives.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The most effective way to attract new clients to my company has been through a strategic mix of word-of-mouth recommendations and a social media presence. Satisfied customers’ recommendations establish immediate trust, while platforms like Instagram allow us to showcase impressive visual transformations, attract followers, and connect with an audience seeking inspiration. By implementing a combined strategy that encourages authentic testimonials, consistent before-and-after project posts, and educational design content, we can generate a steady stream of interested clients.
