We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dashaad Prude a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Dashaad thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with a fun one – what’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
Being a it is commonly known to follow a niche or specific way of doing photography they say you can only be good if you are only good in one particular Avenue or lane have I strongly disagree with this because if you truly don’t what you wanna do and what you love to do it’s not limited to one particular thing art is unlimited to a niche art can incorporate many different aspects of one in the genre like I might love to do head shots with portrait just like the second love talk mostly get caught up in the idea trying to be like someone else and how to be this person be this person which isn’t a bad idea and very, however, most people forget to beat themselves and incorporate yourself into your art instead of incorporate someone else’s art into you that’s a twist that most people get confused.
thank you

Dashaad, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Tara Banks was my biggest inspiration growing up singer on TV seen the clothes they were wearing the models and what they’re doing always get the eye out for what they were doing that inspired me to be the photographer. I am today today I am really dying to the high fashion Side of photography, love and close and expressed the techniques truly understanding how people move their body and organic ways a studio in Memphis, Tennessee, where I tried to make and re-create high fashion looks magazine. Looks quality photos just wow, the eye. My name is Cameraman Dash📸 and I’m all for bending the rules and my industry trying to recreate and create things that not been done before
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Yes, every day I work a 9 to 5 overnight the grave shift about 10 to 12 hours a day go home maybe get 2 to 3 hours of sleep, then grind my photography business like no other barely making it to work the same night again sleeping somewhere at work that’s to maintain health and doing it on repeat day after day just to make sure I am achieving and reaching my goals and my full potential there is no off day. I don’t feel right sitting around doing nothing every moment I feel that I’m not putting towards my career. It’s a moment wasted every moment I waste a moment my competitors are getting an upper hand with my crazy schedule. I also seem to fit an hour of gym every other day

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I am an eager student, always striving to learn and grow. There’s a line from a song that plays in my head: “There’s no door in my face that I’m not walking through,” and I live by that mantra. One day, I stumbled upon a Facebook post in a photography group. I didn’t know the person who posted it, but her words caught my attention: “Is anyone looking for a studio or interested in coming together to build something?” I was one of the first serious inquiries, and we met up to make something happen.
At the time, I was just starting my photography career. I barely knew what I was doing, didn’t have much going on, and hardly had the resources. But I knew this was the right step at the right moment. Despite the odds, I made it work. Meet my studio partner, Jasmine. 📸
