We recently connected with Perla and Indira and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Perla and Indira, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
In our full time careers we have the opportunity to get really creative. At one particular event, we decided to decorate with balloons and instantly knew this was something that could feed our creative brain. We became obsessed with the idea of creating art through balloon work and turning it into a successful business opportunity. One day we decided to start an Instagram page and the rest was history!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourselves and give our readers some of your background and context?
We are two moms who understand first hand the stresses of planning a party that stands out as one of a kind. We started PoshPop Balloons in the hopes that we could help our clients achieve a curated look for their events and set out to offer a unique approach to balloon styling that stood out among traditional decor. As a team, we help clients elevate their celebrations with a sophisticated look no matter the theme or budget. PoshPop is proud of the brand we have built around our work and want potential clients to know that we strive to provide the best service, meet their needs and are truly invested in every event we take on.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
It’s important to put yourself out there on social media so that your work gets on the screens of potential clients. We look at social media in two ways: one as a digital portfolio that everyone has access to and second as a brand builder.
The work you post on your feed is a representation of your business, quality, style and look you provide. What goes on your feed should be chosen carefully so that it portrays your business in the way you need it to. Always choose high quality images and creative captions when planning your posts!
Second, social media is a great way to build your brand, Be sure you know what your brand is, invest in a strong logo and create a social media presence that is clean and aligned with your branding details.
Remember to be active on your platforms, potential clients don’t know what they want until they see it!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
At the beginning of our journey we would take on any install opportunity that came our way and came to realize we were feeling overworked, burned out and unmotivated. In seeing how we could realign our method, it dawned on us that we needed to take a step back and give our work the value it deserved. We adjusted our pricing, set a minimum and established a delivery range. Bold changes are scary for any business. We were thrilled to see that our clients also supported our work and stuck with us through our journey. Through these changes, we attracted clients that shared our aesthetic vision and understood the value in unique art.
