We were lucky to catch up with Gina Starbuck recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Gina, thanks for joining us today. What’s the best advice you ever gave to a client? How did they benefit / what was the result? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
The best advice I ever gave? It wasn’t just advice—it was an invitation to trust their body as a portal of wisdom and healing.
One client came to me feeling disconnected, stuck in a cycle of chronic pain and emotional heaviness. She had tried everything—doctors, therapy, energy work—but nothing seemed to stick. During our session, I asked her to simply listen to her body without judgment, to move with whatever came up, and to trust the sound of her own voice as a tool for release.
She was hesitant at first, but something clicked. She started moving and vocalizing in a way that felt primal, raw, and true. Within just a few sessions, not only did the physical pain she had carried for decades begin to ease, but she also felt a shift in her emotional state—a lightness, a sense of freedom she hadn’t experienced in years.
She told me later, “I didn’t realize how much power I’ve been holding in my own body. You didn’t just heal me—you taught me how to heal myself.” That’s the magic I live for.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Gina, a spiritual mentor, sound healer, and embodiment guide, weaving together a lifetime of diverse experiences into a body of work that supports people in reclaiming their power and living their truth. My journey into this work started earlier than most—I was just six years old when a neighbor began teaching me Reiki. Even as a child, I was drawn to energy, creativity, and the unseen forces that shape our lives. I’ve always been multi-gifted, with an insatiable curiosity about the magic of being human.
For years, I poured my creative energy into a powerful and successful career in the entertainment industry. It was exhilarating and deeply fulfilling, but it also came at a cost. I hit a wall of burnout that forced me to reevaluate everything. Then motherhood arrived—a complete paradigm shift that cracked me open and birthed me into a new version of myself. My daughter became the greatest catalyst for my growth, calling me into my most honest, liberated, and embodied self. She awakened within me a profound connection to divine feminine wisdom and the ancient knowledge carried in the womb—a wisdom that transcends gender and invites us all to reclaim our wholeness.
Now, I find myself in a full-circle moment. Every step of my journey—the energy work I began as a child, the creativity I explored in my entertainment career, the lessons of burnout, and the profound transformations of motherhood—all inform the work I offer today. I guide my clients through embodied healing and self-discovery using movement, sound, and energy, empowering them to connect with their inner healer and live boldly from a place of authenticity.
What sets my work apart is this deep connection to divine feminine wisdom and the ancient voice of the womb. This isn’t just about healing—it’s about remembering. I support beings of all genders in reclaiming the wisdom of their bodies, their voices, and their souls. Whether through transformative retreats, private sessions, or group experiences, my work is a call to embody the full spectrum of life, to trust the magic within, and to create a world that reflects our deepest truths.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Other than training and knowledge, the key to success in my field is integrity and the willingness to follow divine impulses while staying deeply human. I’ve always learned by doing—by trusting my instincts, practicing in real time, and being present with what’s unfolding. That hands-on approach, paired with a commitment to authenticity, has shaped everything I do.
What truly sets my work apart is the ability to hold space for the full spectrum of human experience. Life has taught me how to meet people where they are, with compassion and care. This “human first” approach—honoring each person’s story, struggles, and magic—makes it possible for my clients to feel truly seen, loved, and safe to explore their liberation.
Success isn’t just about the tools you have; it’s about the heart you bring to the work. When you can hold others—and yourself—with integrity and compassion, you create a container where real transformation happens.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn is the idea that you have to be perfect—or have it all together—to be of service. For a long time, I believed that I needed to present a polished, put-together version of myself to be worthy of guiding others. But that belief became a cage, keeping me from sharing my full, authentic self.
The medicine of honesty changed everything for me. I realized that hiding the messy, raw, and vulnerable parts of myself wasn’t protecting anyone—it was holding me back from creating the deep, liberating connections my work is all about. When I started letting those walls down, something shifted. Clients weren’t looking for perfection; they were looking for permission. Permission to be human, to embrace their own shadows, and to know they could still heal and thrive.
Unlearning perfectionism taught me that the most powerful thing I can offer isn’t a perfect façade but my truth. When we stop hiding, we give others the courage to do the same—and that’s where real transformation begins.
