Hi Denise, thanks for joining us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
Resin art are is a big trend currently. It’s is being used to create all sorts of whimsical and colorful art pieces, from jewelry to home decor, Fluid Art Bears is another popular trend. These are adorable little figurines made using resin and paint. They’re a fun and unique project for crafters who enjoy working with resin.

My journey into the world of crafting and design began as a hobby that eventually blossomed into a business. I’ve always had a natural talent for creating, and I’m not sure what specifically inspired me to start – it just felt like a natural fit. At Bonafide Kreationz, I specialize in creating one-of-a-kind custom items like travel bags, cosmetic bags, t-shirts and tumblers. I love that I get to help people commemorate special occasions and express their personal style through my designs.
What sets me apart is my commitment to uniqueness and quality. Every item I create is custom, so customers know they’re getting something that can’t be found elsewhere. I take the time to understand their vision and bring it to life with attention to detail and high-quality materials. I’m most proud of the positive feedback I’ve received from customers, who appreciate the care and dedication I put into each and every item.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I knew that social media would be a key part of building my brand and reaching potential customers. I began by choosing the platforms that aligned best with my business – for me, that was Instagram and Facebook, since they’re so visual and allow for easy sharing of photos and videos of my creations.
At first, it was tough! I only had a handful of followers, and engagement was low. But I didn’t get discouraged. Instead, I focused on creating high-quality content that showcased my products in the best light. I learned about the importance of good lighting, styling and captions. I made sure to post consistently, so my followers knew what to expect and would keep coming back for more.
I also started engaging with others on the platforms. I’d comment on and like posts from similar accounts, participate in relevant hashtags and collaborate with other small business owners. This helped me get my name out there and attract new followers. I ran a few giveaways and promotions, which always gave my numbers a boost.
As time went on, I started to see my following grow. I was getting more likes, comments and messages, and I could tell that people were really responding to my brand and products. I made sure to engage with my followers as much as possible, responding to comments and direct messages and asking for their feedback and input. This helped me build a loyal community around Bonafide Kreationz.
Now, I’m proud to say that I have a strong social media presence. I’ve learned that the key is consistency, engagement and providing value to your followers. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results right away – building an audience takes time and effort. Keep creating great content, interacting with others and promoting your accounts, and you’ll start to see growth over time.
My advice for those just starting out is to start small and be focused. Don’t try to be on every platform at once – choose the ones that make the most sense for your business and where your target audience is most active. Create a content calendar to help you plan and ensure consistency. Engage, engage, engage – that’s how you’ll build relationships and attract new followers. And don’t be afraid to try new things and learn as you go. Social media is always evolving, so be open to adjusting your strategy as needed. With time and effort, you can build a strong social media presence for your business.

When I first started Bonafide Kreationz, I was excited to turn my hobby into a business. I had big dreams and was eager to get started. But as with any new venture, I quickly encountered challenges. At first, it was tough to attract customers and get my name out there. I’d spend hours creating social media posts and listings, only to hear crickets. There were times when I doubted myself and wondered if I had made a mistake by pursuing this business.
Despite the setbacks, I didn’t give up. I kept creating, promoting and engaging, even when it felt like no one was paying attention. I sought out feedback and used it to improve my products and marketing. I learned to celebrate the small wins, even if it was just one new follower or a single comment on a post. Those little victories kept me going on the tough days.
Then, disaster struck. I had invested a lot of money and time into a big craft fair, hoping it would be a great opportunity to get my products in front of potential customers. But the event was poorly attended, and I ended up selling hardly anything. I was devastated – that was a major financial setback, and it made me question whether I had what it took to make this business work.
But again, I didn’t let that defeat me. Instead, I used it as a learning experience. I realized I needed to be more careful about which opportunities I invested in and do more research beforehand. I applied for other events and focused on building my online presence. Slowly but surely, things started to turn around. I began getting more orders and hearing from happy customers, which kept me motivated to keep going.
Looking back, I’m proud of the resilience I’ve shown on this journey. There have been plenty of ups and downs, but I’ve never given up on my vision for Bonafide Kreationz. I’ve learned to adapt, to keep learning and growing, and to keep pushing forward even when things get tough. That’s the key to building a successful business, and it’s a skill I’ll carry with me for the rest of my entrepreneurial journey.
So I say to others that’s thinking about starting a business or pursuing their dream, would be to expect challenges and don’t be too hard on yourself when things don’t go as planned. Keep moving forward, even if it’s just a tiny step at a time. Celebrate your wins, no matter how small they may seem. And always remember why you started in the first place – that passion and purpose will carry you through the tough times. With resilience and determination, you can overcome any obstacle and build the business you’ve dreamed of.
