We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Zinnijah Guadalupe. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Zinnijah below.
Zinnijah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
Growing up, I struggled with transitioning into womanhood and didn’t have anyone to talk to about anything dealing with taking care of my woman body. I had to figure it out on my own by reading and just experiencing. By the time I was in my early 20’s I was so fed up with dealing with period pain and PMS, I started opening my mind to the possibility that I could heal. Around that same time, I was diagnosed with food allergies, after suffering for 1 year with hives, angioedema and shortness of breath. It was sea food and sulfite, so I just threw meat away. I didn’t eat red meat or pork, so giving it up all together wasn’t hard because I didn’t like chicken like that anyway! Back then, I knew this was all related to a journey to wellness, self-liberation, freedom and feminine healing.
My mom gave me a book to read – Heal Thyself by Queen Afua. When I tell you I kept that book near my bed like a bible. She just made sense! I wanted to do EVERYTHING she recommended. Little did I know I was starting a lifetime journey to healing my entire blood line. After that, I met Dr. Akua Gray and was introduced to naturopathy, iridology, body butter, and live food prep. I joined her Sacred Woman Circle of Houston, which transformed my life! I was already eating at Sunshine’s multiple times a week and training in martial arts at SEHAH Youth & Fitness Center, teaching dance classes and started a dance company – Kucheza Ngoma Dance Company, all while working on my degree in Biology. I was on a mission to become the best OB/GYN this world had ever seen!
A few years after completing the second Rites of Passage in Sacred Goddess Temple Mastery with Dr. Akua, I started my medical school journey in Antigua. By that time, I was so burnt out and overwhelmed with my life, I didn’t understand why I felt so unfulfilled. I was married at the time with 3 children and living out my childhood dream of becoming a doctor. Intrusive thoughts began to creep in. That’s when I knew I needed help. Around that same time, I had been dancing with Antigua Dance Academy and the artistic director, Veronica Yearwood (AKA Auntie Vee), had took me under her wing. I was so amazed by her work and community; I volunteered my time and expertise to them.
One day Auntie Vee took me to the side and said, “Your sisters are suffering…they need you.” I still don’t know how she knew that I’m the one who could help them. I don’t know what I said to make her aware of my passion for women’s health, but I agreed to help. We scheduled a small meeting with my dance sisters to discuss different things I use to help me maintain my woman body. When I tell you these women leaned in. That night, I knew exactly what I had been missing.
The years in between doing the first rites of passage and Sacred Goddess Temple Mastery, I was facilitating other rites and helped create a young girl’s program as well. It had been years since doing so, by that time, I had forgotten how good it felt! That night seeing how entranced my dance sisters had become and the energy I felt afterwards let me know that I need to keep going. That same night, I called my “Sister of the Divine”, Alicia, and we started planning the new chapter of Sacred Goddess Temple. She said, she was thinking the same and we got right to it! I said it would be a crime if I left Antigua without sharing the teachings of Sacred Woman with my sisters.
In 2018 we facilitated our first group of women. It was a profound experience that took me even further into my own healing. These women poured into me just as much as we poured into them! That’s when I knew that THIS was my calling, my passion, my purpose. So, we officially established Sacred Goddess Temple Antigua in 2017. This was just the beginning of my re-definition of who I am now – Thee Organic Goddess.
After our first Rites of Passage ceremony, I had a clear dream where there was an extremely long line of women, all holding money in their hands, waiting to give it to me. I had so many thoughts and very few questions. I knew spirit was guiding me (still is) to refine myself to do this healing work. When I moved to Jamaica to continue my studies, I continued to let go of what no longer served me and ended my 10-year marriage. I learned all I needed to learn there including the negative effects of misogyny. Once we parted ways, I no longer had painful periods or PMS that had plagued me for 18 years. This is when I go the courage to branch off and birth Pink Nectar.
Pink Nectar is a luxury women’s wellness community designed to help women re-claim their time and energy through coaching, healing workshops, retreats and natural body products. This is my baby! How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My natural personality and insights about women’s wellness helps me build my reputation within my community. Helping women talk care of their Woman Body has been my life’s work because I had to heal myself, I wanted to be the best big sister to my younger siblings, and my spirit has led me to the things, places and people who will help me grow and accomplish this journey.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Yes! This is one of the few things that brings me great joy and an electrifying feeling that keeps me going!
