We recently connected with Kelsey Davis and have shared our conversation below.
Kelsey , appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
For Real Estate- I do custom gift baskets based on what I’ve learned about them. I make sure it’s something they can connect with and know I went out of my way to make it perfect for them
For Chairman of the board- I frequently visit our members and shop local. I find that all owners love it when we support them, share their content, help others find that they exist, etc. I want them to know I value what they poured their heart and soul into .
Micro influencing- I do weekly giveaways. I am a book lover, I read TONS, as soon as I am done reading a book- I rate it and share it, I never keep them because I want others to have the chance to read them too, so I give them away.
Venue- our family is super involved. its a team effort. we bend over backwards for our brides……a groom just spilt half a bottle of red wine down a brides dress……my sister ran and grabbed her wedding dress and the bride wore it the rest of the night. It’s such a fun experience to work with family and treat others like they are part of our family

Kelsey , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I tell people that I am a “melting pot” of a person. I do not feel like there is one “niche” that I fall under. First of all, I am a HUGE family person, we do everything as a family. We love that our kids can experience life with us…we are trying to see all 50 states with the kids before they graduate high school, so traveling is always up our sleeves.
I live on a giant homestead farm with aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters, brother-in-laws, mom, dad….you name it. We are all on the same county road growing up together. The guys raise cattle and I raise the chickens, ducks and rabbits! I share a few videos everyday of the farm life on instagram and it’s fun showing others how great the farm life can be.
I am a full time real estate agent, which I have been doing for 10 years and fully LOVE every aspect of it. From rentals, residential, commercial and ranches….I do it all!
I am also this years Chairman of the Board for our hometown’s Chamber. I get to network and connect with so many business owners large and small every single week. The connections that have turned into life long friendships has been so much fun.
Our family owns a Wedding Venue which we opened in 2020. It has been a blast to work along side my mom, dad and little sister on the weekends. Watching people get married never gets old.
Lastly, I love social media. I just love to share what I love. From farm life, to real estate showings, cooking, family fun ideas, outfits and more….I just share away. I am always looking for new ideas to do in life & social media has been such a fun way to connect with people and try new things. Some people have no idea what the farm life looks like, so it’s fun to give them a small glimpse. I have people reach out letting me know their kids look forward to the “chicken videos” I share every morning. I also share DIY projects online. Homemade bread, candles, cough syrups, recipes, laundry detergent and more. So many people want to live cleaner lives and don’t know where to start, so I try and bridge the gap with what I know and share it.
I think I am most proud of my authenticity. I think life is too short to just wear one hat and if God gave me the ability to have talent and love for more than one thing, then I am going to wear it and share it and encourage others to do the same. I know there is no one out there like me, just like there is no one out there like you. And being able to confidently share that with people is so much fun to do. ‘

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I got laid off the week of my wedding and I had just found out I was pregnant. I really liked my job, it let me travel and it paid the bills. I was a social media strategist for company in Chicago. I had made so many friends and had so many connections. It broke my heart when I got the call I was laid off. I had so many “new” things happening and being a pregnant newlywed was not on my wish list. I was devastated.
Backstory- a few weeks before I was laid off my manager encouraged me to get my real estate license. He helped me every step of the way. He told me I would be great at it and it would be a great side job. Little did I know, he had heard of a massive layoff happening soon at our company and was secretly preparing me for another job when it happened.
So, back to getting laid off,……again, devastation. BUT a backup plan I would have never thought of on my own, went into effect. I had to shift, literally my entire life in one week. I went from a Social Media Strategist to a Real Estate Agent. It was soooo much to unload, so much to understand and such a dang crazy time of my life.
But God always has His hands on what is meant for you, and this story was meant for me and I cherish it. I have come so far with my unwanted job switch and I see it as such a blessing.

Any advice for managing a team?
I tell everyone who works with me, If you are honest and upfront with me, I will have your back fully and help you with any problem that comes your way. The moment you start lying, there is a problem. We cannot be true to ourselves, our missions and life if we are riddled with lies and dishonesty. Being truthful is so hard these days, but it is so essential to stay true. The moment you start lying to yourself, you start lying to others and it snow balls. It’s so important to keep everyone accountable for what they say. It’s a team effort. If you can truly be honest and in the kindest of ways, it makes a dramatic difference on maintaining high morale.
