In the vibrant world of creativity, where every note and lyric felt like an extension of his soul, Big Wordz found happiness as a creator. It was a world he molded with his hands, crafting art and building a brand that resonated with others. His artist name was not just a label—it was an identity and a testament to his passions.
Yet, in quiet moments, curiosity about a more conventional path would occasionally surface, like a whisper in the back of his mind. He pondered what life might be like with a regular job. He considered the structured routine, the predictability, and the days filled with tasks set by someone else. But he knew from experience what it was like to have a regular job—a different world with its own rhythm and responsibilities.

For Big Wordz, if that regular job nurtured his love for music, such as working as an engineer in a studio, the concept became more appealing. But at his core, he cherished the freedom and autonomy that came from being his own boss. The thought of being able to plunge into the studio at any hour, crafting the sounds and rhythms that defined his essence, held an allure that a traditional path couldn’t match.
Reflecting on the last time he entertained these thoughts, he recalled a day when the chaos of creative life felt particularly intense. Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Physically and mentally, the weight of Sickle-Cell Anemia bore down heavily on Big Wordz. It was an unyielding presence that consumed daily life, a silent battle that was fought within. Normally, opening up about such a personal struggle wasn’t easy; speaking about disability seemed even more daunting. Yet, the toll it took was palpable, casting shadows over brighter days and trying to take hold.
Striving to remain strong amidst this struggle was like wrestling with an unseen force. The pain seemed to control every aspect of existence, its grip relentless and consuming. In those quiet moments, whispers of prayer drifted upwards—pleas for salvation, for relief. “Jesus, please save me,” became a mantra repeated often during the journey.
Frequent doctor visits turned into debates, a search for solutions in a labyrinth of medical advice. The journey seemed like an experiment, each treatment another hypothesis in the quest for relief. Legal counsel brought little comfort; it seemed the odds of winning any battle, especially in a place like Vegas, were slim at best.
The world was viewed often from the seat of a wheelchair, as ulcers on ankles made every step a story of endurance. It felt as if life was unfair, but shifting perspectives offered a glimpse into untamed resilience. Prescription medications came with their own set of chains, a dependency that grew with each passing day.
Amidst the physical pain, there loomed the presence of a past conviction—a blemish of domestic violence that required serving probation and managing anger. Substance abuse added to the complexity, a dangerous edge that danced closely with the threat of being broke.
Hope seemed elusive, a distant stranger in the narrative. Yet, in the moments of pleading for favor, for a change in fortune, there was a recognition of the struggle’s authenticity. It was not tales of victories passed, but a candid portrayal of a journey not often in favor. However, the story was woven with threads of belief that the trials would lead somewhere meaningful.
