We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dana Decicco a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Dana thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.

Before working professionally as an Intuitive Medium, I spent years doing readings weekly in Psychic Development Circles in NYC. This was a great way to develop and fine tune my intuitive abilities. As I was considering making the transition into professionally working but wasn’t sure I could work as an Intuitive Medium, I had a woman reach out to me regarding information I shared with her about some upcoming events and transitions in her life during a random circle years back.

Spirit had wanted to talk with her about trust and surrendering into changes she was going through and more yet to come. Spirit’s message was that although painful and life changing would open her life in wonderful ways. The woman let me know about how events including a job loss, relationship ending and move resulted in her starting her own business, getting married and lots of traveling.

She wanted to thank me for my messages and let me know the unfolding accuracy of the information I delivered from spirit gave her hope and direction during it all. It was then I knew that I wanted to connect people with the messages of spirit to bring hope and support to others. To help people move from the shadows into the light of awareness and healing.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am an Intuitive Medium and Shamanic Healer. I am passionate about connecting people with the messages of spirit to move from the shadows into the light of healing. I offer intuitive healing sessions, home clearings and shamanic sessions.

Through connecting with and integrating the messages of spirit, we are able to connect more deeply with our inner child, higher selves and the magic of discovery and healing in profound life altering ways. When I work, I work across time and space to access the Akashic Record to obtain information on past lives and multidimensional realities. I channel deceased loved ones, spirit guides, earth elementals, angels and other ascended light beings. I can see, hear and sense spirits along with auras, attachments and other psychic information. In my sessions I incorporate shamanic healing to clear and cleanse the body and aura.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?

In order to be able to receive the messages of spirit, trust and surrender are absolutely necessary. One must be open and willing to receive, then trust in the messages from spirit to deliver them exactly as they are received. Even if they don’t instantly resonate or make sense, be open. Give it time and often in the coming days or weeks, the message clicks. Surender into the message and allow for continued communication through further synchronicities. Follow the breadcrumbs you receive and engage with the universe. You will come to see the universe has your back!

Compassionate authenticity is also essential to working as a psychic, medium or healer. Someone must be able to hold space in a radically accepting way without judgement and absolute compassion. Holding space means both being able to sit in the dark as well as the light with others.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

The brightest light is found in the darkest night. Spirituality is not all love and light, it is also about our ability to look into our own shadows and dark places. Our ascension must be matched with the ability descend into the darkest parts of ourselves, this is how we heal. This is also the sacred balance of the universe.
