We recently connected with Corey Renbarger and have shared our conversation below.
Corey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
During my college years, I turned to fitness as a lifeline while grappling with substance abuse, and it played a crucial role in my journey to recovery.
From then on fitness has been my number one priority, during every career change, all the ups and downs of life, etc. Then, in 2017 I discovered breathwork. Exercise was one thing, but to combine the two makes you feel like you can take on anything life throws at you.
Once I realized that I could change my entire physiology through breath, I felt the need to share this beautiful craft with everyone I came across. THAT was my defining moment.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Growing up in a small town, I always had big dreams and eventually discovered my passion for health and wellness.
Whether it’s during stressful times, learning to breathe properly while training, or helping to stay calm during the ever changing thing we call life; breath and breathwork has been HUGE for my growth and evolution as a human.
Knowing how our lungs and brain are ever changing and constantly adapting, that to me is fascinating, tie those two together and you have the Corey Renbarger experience.
I have an insatiable desire to learn and grow, and I never want that journey to end. This drives my passion for teaching others about the power of breath and exercise.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dog (Zelly), savoring a good book with a cup of coffee, and staying active through fun activities like rock climbing, cycling around the city, or hiking with great company. I’m passionate about serving my students and community, whether through personal training, group sessions, or breathwork. Helping others is my life’s purpose, and I’ve dedicated myself to transforming perspectives on health and wellness, showing that true well-being is simpler and more achievable than we often think.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
I wouldn’t trade what I do for anything, it took me a decade to realize that’s what I was meant to do. Helping remind people of their true internal strengths and simplifying Breathwork and fitness is so rewarding for me.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I would say that the most effective strategy is to make sure I provide consistent value for my customer and give them a great experience ever single time I see them, helping them achieve every goal they set making them want to spread the word to their friends and family to have me help them as well. Word of mouth has been the biggest growth factor in my business and my continuous hunger for learning to be able to help additional people.
