We recently connected with Mia Tizon and have shared our conversation below.
Mia , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
Growing up in an immigrant family you were always told to do better than your parents. It was said that you have to become something because of the sacrifice they took to bring you here to the US. Now as a parent I not only want to not show that mentality but I want my daughters to know I support them in everyway possible. I want to show my daughters that anything is possible and you can try and if doesn’t work out it’s ok. What matters most is not the money you leave or the business you leave your children. Its those moments they see you work hard, those moments that you stop what your doing to care for them. I want them to achieve all they want but to also be content in their lives. To enjoy life and not just focus on the next big gig or paycheck. I hope my legacy shows others to go for your dreams but also enjoy life with the ones that you love.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My balloon business provides different types of balloon decorations to fit any occasion. We can do anything from helium filled balloons, organic balloon garlands to even balloon walls. I love that I am able to create masterpieces! What sets us apart is the willingness to be more than just a business. We care about our clients and want to establish a personal relationship, not just a business one. Being more personal has helped us achieve more since we began in 2019. It was a tough journey to find exactly what I wanted Confetti Pop Creations to represent. I just didn’t want to be another balloon vendor all about business. I wanted people to see my passion, gift and how relational I was. To me what is most important is the relationship I establish with my clients. Its like becoming part of their family and them for mine.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Clients are very important to have. The way I love to establish new clients is by word of mouth. When you connect with the client and do a great job it just makes things so much better. It’s establishing that connection that makes them refer you. It’s always so nice to hear so and so referred me. Social media is also great to have and not only does it show your work but it also gets to show you. I love that my clients get to know me personally. I don’t just wear the business owner hat but also wife, mother and friend.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When so many people have a business like you do it kind of makes you have to prove yourself. I remember the first few months into my business and how I felt like I wasn’t doing enough. I would get connected and provide quotes and they would be turned down. I could’ve gave up but I pushed through. God opened doors for me that I didn’t even see coming. He connected me to people that I would’ve never met on my own. He knew what I need and when I needed it. I was able to get contracts for the city and do amazing jobs for churches across town. If I had given up, I would’ve never been able to get these contracts. Being resilient no matter the circumstances not only helps you mature as a person but also a business owner.
