Today we’d like to introduce you to Eston Browne
Hi Eston, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started playing in bands and doing vocals 20 years ago in 2004 when I formed my first band, Merciless Mutilation. At the time I was 14 years old and when I got into metal around age 11 it always stuck with me. Over the years I played in multiple bands throughout the metal subgenre to where we are today with VULNIFICUS. VULNIFICUS got started in late 2021 and we released a compilation, a 4 way split record titled “Four Dimensions of Death” and 3 EP’s, the recent one being called “INEXTRICABLE”
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing in life is ever smooth when you want success. The struggles are plenty. From self doubt, finding fans to like your music, playing shows or just to trying to play in bands with the right members and chemistry. Finding the right sound that fits the style that you want to play is always an uphill battle. It’s been a lot of trial and error along the way to get the musical vision across the way you want without any regrets.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the vocalist of VULNIFICUS and I come up with the lyrics and concepts behind our music. I am known for my versatile vocal style in this band and in others I’ve played with in the past. I am most proud of the recent success behind VULNIFICUS, being signed to a large label and finishing our first tour this past Fall. A lot of it is uncharted territory. I believe what sets us apart from others is our passion for the music we play and the originality behind it. I believe our consistency in trying to reach new listeners has also set us apart and makes people take what we’re doing serious. We intend on being a band that fans can depend on for years to come.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
F0rtune favors the bold. I’m a risk tasker, but it’s always a calculated and meticulous risk that’s being taken. I believe the existence of this band and the success was all a risk in and of itself. From forming the group, to touring, it’s all a risk that was worth taking. Otherwise, you’ll live life in regret and be left wondering about what could have been. As long as you stay consistent and believe in yourself, the sky is the limit.
